Not as busy or as big as parks in USA. Easy to get to on MTR. The Disneyland express shuttle from Sunny Hill MTR has Mickey Mouse windows which adds to the quirkiness of the journey The rides usually do not have long waiting times although there are fast passes. New areas are being built but do not affect visitors. There are two shows to see and both excellent. The lion King theater is in the round so every can see and enjoy the performances. There is an afternoon parade about 3p.m. as well as one in the evening and a firework display.Do look around for the character greeting spots to see your favorite.

A very interesting place with probably more than a thousand Buddas. It is little known but is mentioned in some guide books The steps are quite steep and it can be a climb .The statues are all different and set out all the way up. A different place if you like something a little quirky. It is signposted from the bus station but the entrance is actually behind the shopping mall. You may have to ask directions.

A lovely hidden bay set about 45 minutes from Shau Kei. Lovely clean beach with umbrellas and deckchairs to hire. Very picturesque. They are a few restaurants which vary in price to the position. Those nearest the beach more expensive, depending on a lunch, dinner or just a snack. There are plenty of shady places to sit and watch the waves. The sea seems to get deeper quickly. Take a local bus or a first bus from Shau Kei which drops you off at the beach. You have to go to the bus station to get the return one. There are a couple of walks one to the rocky outlet which would make a good place to take a picnic with great views.

Once a typhoon shelter Aberdeen harbor is a busy fishing port with many high end apartments.Take a local sampan ride or a big bus one around the boats, It is fascinating to see how basic the living conditions are on the boats.Take the ferry across the bay and walk along the pathway to see another side of the harbor. It is a pleasant and quiet place to sit and watch the boats come and go.The feryy from Lamma goes into the harbor which is great to see the harbor from the sea. There are plenty of shops and a bus station to other parts of the island. A few other ferries go to the outlying islands but check times. The famous Floating restaurant has its home here as well as some smaller ones.
