Secret Gardens, Hong Kong

Found this guide helpful

Let me introduce my secret garden to you, Hong Kong Museum of Art, one of my favorite museums in HK. I enjoy watching artwork in exhibitions and a splendid view of the Victoria Harbor through glass panel from the second or the third floor of Hong Kong Museum of Art . Please don’t forget to go outdoors in a sunny day, the ferry ride is about 9 minutes from/to Tsim Sha Tsui (TST)/Central. Ferry ride day and night is recommended; it just costs you HK$2-3 for single ride. Another Secret Garden is an Oasis in City, Kowloon Park. It is also located in TST. If you would like to have a refreshing breath after crazy shopping along Canton Road and Nathan Road, I strongly recommend you to take a break and meet the birds in the Bird Lake and the Aviary. http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/tc/parks/kp/access.html If you like bird watching, you can consider joining "Meeting Point for Morning Bird Watching at the Kowloon Park” from 7:30am to 9:30am every Friday. http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/parks/kp/watching.html

Jasminehill's City Tips

  • To buy Museum Weekly Pass, HK$30 each for 7 days, unlimited admission of the following Museums (excluding special exhibitions with admission fees): Hong Kong Museum of Art (in TST), Hong Kong Museum of History (in TST), Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Science Museum (in TST), Hong Kong Space Museum (excluding programmes in the Stanley Ho Space Theatre, in TST), Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence and Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum. There are four museums in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST).
  • The Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, the former Whitfield Barracks, is located at Kowloon Park. It is a beautiful classic building inside the park and I love to visit the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre and other outdoors facilities, such as Maze Garden, Sculpture Walk and Sculpture Garden, Piazza and Loggia.
  • If you don’t mind walking a bit more, it is not far away from Kowloon Park to Tsim Sha Tsui East through Kimberley Road, you can arrive at Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Science Museum in TST East. However, it is a bit tough to do so in a hot summer time.

Kowloon Park is one of my favorite parks in Hong Kong. There are two McDonalds inside Kowloon Park, I like having an ice-cream and watching the flamingo birds at " the Aviary".
