We came across this sculpture by accident, while walking around the neighborhood of Malá Strana ("Little Quarter") after breakfast. In times like these and with history's tendancy to repeat itself, seeing such a powerful description of what the wrong use of politics can cause to the humankind had a big impact to my soul at that moment. I found myself staring at these "shadows" without saying anything for quite a few minutes. A strong image that I will not - and do not want to ever - forget.

If you enjoy escaping from the big tourist spots from times to times in order to experience the local way of living, then, as far as Prague is concerned, this is definitely the place to visit. Leave the big classic cafés for a while. "Café Lounge" with the excellent ambiance and service and the classy local clients is a great place to start your day!

There's a good reason why the cathedral of St. Nicholas is one of the most famous sights in Prague. Whether you're a religious person or not, this church will definitely impress you with the majesty and luxury of the statues and murals that decorate it.

You cannot say that you have visited Prague if you do not visit Charles Bridge! Each step that you will take crossing the bridge will be a step back in history. Take some time to notice the magnificent statues that stand across the bridge and you will realize the greatness of the place. And of course, the view of Prague from the bridge is breathtaking!

Once you start wandering around Prague, you will simply find yourself at the Old Town Square at some point. You will realize it quite soon, as it is one of the busiest areas of the city, visited by many (or better all) tourists, with the Astronomical Clock and the many shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants being the main reason of it.

If you're a romantic and artistic soul, you will fall in love with this café. Or if you're a writer experiencing writer's block, this is the place to gain your inspiration back. At least that's how I felt and I'm not even an actual writer! It's as if time never touched this place. Go up the stairs of this lovely building and get ready for a trip back in the early 1900's.

Definitely the most delicious meal I had while in Prague. A beautiful restaurant with a unique ambiance that made us feel like we were invited at someone's home. That, along with the politeness of the waiter, made our evening there really special. I strongly recommend it!

A really interesting sight from both an architectural and historical point of view. Impressive building that offers a lot of information about the life of Jews in Prague before and after WWII. It is the best part of the whole Jewish Museum Tour in my opinion.

Take the big tour (Circuit A) and make sure you have a lot of time ahead to experience everything that the Castle has to offer. It is the best way to learn about the history and culture of this country, explore the past and understand the present of the Czech people.

Beautiful streets, amazing buildings and a romantic atmosphere in every step!

I have never seen so many jazz bars gathered in one city, so visiting at least one of them is definitely a must while in Prague. The Reduta Jazz Club is supposed to be one of the most known jazz bars here; check their live performances and stop by for a drink or two to listen to some nice music during your stay!

This one is a huge museum! I can't say that all the exhibits will be worth your time but there are some really cool things to see. You should most definitely make time to visit the transportation exhibits, I was in awe when I entered the room!

I will try to forget the rude security people at the entrance to go ahead and say that this museum of contemporary art might actually worth a visit. With a wide photo exhibition concerning mainly political issues, as well as documentation on the ambiguous topic of public surveillance among the exhibits, this is a place that definitely offers food for thought to its visitors. Get ready to be challenged...

One of the calmest, yet quite exciting museums to visit in Prague! The stuff will introduce you to the mysteries and secrets of the alchemists society of the old city and in only a few seconds you will feel part of the magical energy that this place has! And who knows...after visiting the dark and moist cellars you may even be convinced to try one of their magical potions, which according to the myth, come from the secret recipes found in the old texts of the alchemists...

For the history lovers, this is a place that gives a lot of information about the destructive impact of WWII on the Jewish community of Prague. A pretty known fact someone might say, however there are details concerning mostly the efforts of the Jewish community to preserve their identity despite the atrocities they faced that I found quite impressive. Also, you will have the chance to learn things about their culture, customs and every day life.

I found the Old Jewish Cemetery on a list with the most haunting places in the world a while back and after having visited the place. Its simplicity along with the history that burdens it really makes it more than just a cemetery...

Walking the streets of Prague is a great experience in itself. However, you really need to climb one of the many towers of the city to admire its spectacular view. We chose the Henry's Bell Tower and we did not regret it. You will get a 360° view of almost everything that this city has to offer. Make sure you get the elevator to get on top and then walk all the way down to discover what's hiding in the small rooms of the tower.

No matter how old you are, you once were a child and this museum is here to remind you exactly that! With a huge variety of toys, dating even from the very first years of the 20th century, these exhibits will bring back oh so many memories! Whether you're a "boy" or a "girl", there is no way you leave this place without a huge smile on your face!

A few steps away from the Vltava river, the National Theater is a magnificent building that you should definitely visit. I also recommend that you book a ticket online in order to watch a spectacle there during your stay and experience all the glory of the place like a local!

When in ... Prague, do as the Czechs do! Lokal is actually a chain of restaurants around Prague. It is visited mostly by locals and it offers typical Czech food and of course, Czech beer! Nothing fancy, just the simple local way and at very good prices.

One of the first things that come to mind when we say Prague is definitely BEER! And the Prague Beer Museum is the best place to taste as many beers as possible and at a very reasonable price. Yes, it is not an actual museum but a local pub, visited mostly by young people. Order a burger, ask the waiters to help you choose among the big variety of beers offered in the menu and let the beer tasting begin!
