Anne-Julie V's City Tips

  • Avoid the restaurants targeting tourists. Instead, keep an eye out for where the locals are eating — and don't be afraid to ask around for advice.
  • There is a broad network of metro, buses, and trains in Brussels. You can buy tickets at various stations, and at the STIB information offices at many newsagents.
  • Be sure to bring comfortable shoes, because you will be doing a lot of walking!

Quartier Marolles might be one of the oldest districts in Brussels. Full of colorful markets, food stalls, antiques, and vintage clothing, it's a great place to hunt for treasure — and it will keep kids big and small entertained for a while.
