What is the difference between the general ticket for penguin parade vs Penguin Plus? What is recommended? Will have two young kids and advice is appreciated.
It all comes down to how much you want to pay for your experience. The layout of this attraction is so good that regardless of how much you pay you will still be able to view the penguins up pretty close so you won't be disappointed if you don't upgrade from the general admission price. However if you want to be closer to watch more of the penguins come ashore paying the extra for the Penguin Plus pass would be the best option. I have been twice & noticed the bulk of the penguins come ashore in front of the Penguin Plus stands (probably the reason behind building that stand in that location & charging the extra fee) but this is just a small part of your experience. I enjoy watching the penguins from the boardwalks where there is more light & the penguins are so close. Even with many bus loads of tourists visiting it is still easy to find a spot to watch the penguins make their way home without paying the extra money.
The penguin plus ticket holders are seated closer to the sea as compared to the normal ticket holders. The view of the number of penguins emerging from the sea are almost the same in each case. I'd recommend sticking to the regular tickets
Sorry for the late reply, well the plus give you a closer look at the penguins, so close you touch them, but you can't, smaller crowd to sit with, small kids no issues, might be better behaved than some adults down there, if it fits in your budget do it.
