If you have booked empire state as part of the city pass do you still then have to wait in line or do you have to book a specific time to go back
If you have the CityPass, you will still need to wait in line in order to exchange your pass for tickets to our Observatory. We do not offer timed tickets so it is impossible to book a specific time for your visit. Once you exchange your pass for tickets you can visit at that time. Thank you for your inquiry and we look forward to your visit.
You can skip the ticket queue and just join the lift queue. You get to come back after 10pm on same day and they are strict about the time. We visited early morning in august midweek and there were no lines. City Pass was great value.
You can't book a time at the Empire State as far as I am aware you can at Rockefeller
I went around 10pm, had NYPass and waited to get a ticket. Then waited in line again for ticket to be scanned to be allowed up the elevator.
You skip the initial line at the entry gates, but you will be in line again just a bit closer to the elevators - pretty long wait there as well.
