There is an entrance fee that is tied to the tour guide. If you just wish to walk the grounds, you don't need to pay a fee. But, if you want to go inside the house, you do. As recommended by someone, the website will advise the cost for the tour guide/entry into the house.
Please note regarding local library museum passes, that even if you have gotten an Olana pass for a specific day from your library, Olana will not let you in unless you have made a tour reservation with them. Go to Olana's website and look at "Book a Tour." Olana doesn't make it easy, but there is a calendar there for booking, and even a phone number to call. Don't simply show up, or you might be literally left out in the cold.
local residents have the advantage of getting free passes to this and other museums from the local libraries.
