Can I drive my campervan and park nearby for shopping? Which carpark best to park and how much does it cost per hour? Cheers
I personally do not know where to park your camper van but there are places like in Docklands and in the city that they have a full day multi story carpark that cost only about A$17. The trams are free within the city so are very convenient. It's better to walk and take the trams , as if you are unusual of the road system in the city might be a challenge. But if you do decide to drive then good luck.
I did notice car parking but I don't know about a caravan. Contact Victoria Tourism They will be able to help you with parking information. Well worth a stop to stock your fridge at the deli. You wont be disapointed
There is a huge parking lot by the side of the market that can even accommodate trucks so yes, a camper van would fit.
Parking was a few dollars an hour so it depends on how long you stay. We were there for lunch and then we did our shopping - we paid less than $15 for about 4 hours.
Sorry I do not know as I caught the free tram. But I did see a car park at the market itself. U think u shld be able to park there.
Yes a car park was right beside the market area, had plenty of cars within so yes I guess you could park a camper van there, or go out two streets and park there to walk down. Hope this helps , would suggest getting there early to have the better parking lace like about 0800 hrs or if the afternoon market on a wed evening about 1600 hrs.
Parking is a premium at the markets. You are better to park away a few blocks and walk, everything, is pretty close in Melbourne. Or chance your luck and get there very early, if your worried about walking. Enjoy the time while your there. Great foodies city. Happy travels.
Sorry ! We did not have a car but there is a car park right next to it. It gets pretty crowded.
market days are busy but it is possible to drive around and just grab a space. you will not get anything in major streets..eg Elizabeth st.. try taking side streets at top of Elizabeth st. ..go in north direction and walk back.
Big open car park at the actual Markets . Reasonable - $5 to $10 from Memory. Markets are close to train station , so park yr rig out in Suburbs maybe andTRAIN it in.
I'm sorry I can't answer that question. I was a tourist at the markets. Perhaps get in touch with the tourist advise centre.
Yes there is a big carpark beside the market. But on saying this, I noticed there is a multi storey carpark at Docklands and in town which they offered whole day parking for $18or $17 depending.
Trams are available and they are free to travel on within the city. Maybe you might consider parking at your accommodation and take a tram. Walking around the city will get you to see lots of things too. Hope this helps.
there seemed to be plenty of parking near by however i dont know about the cost as i walled everywhere.
We have seen the carpark near by..just next to the market. Not difficult to find it but we don't know the fare per hour.
Yes you can but at peak times you may have to stalk shoppers heading to their cars. There is street meter parking and a car park. It's not that expensive - if you are there for a couple of hours less than $10.00.
