It was amazing. Beautiful place! The Sandia Tramway up to the top of the mountain is a just beautiful and stunning view of the mountains and Albuquerque as a whole metropolitan area. If you're a tourist, this is a great thing to do for at least 2 or 3 hours.

Great place to visit when visiting Albuquerque. Should not miss visiting this place. The location has many shops and cafes that you visit. They also has some shops that sell traditional souvenirs. Overall worth visiting.

We didn't have a reservation, but we waited 30 minutes for a table because it's hard to find food this good when you're traveling on the interstate. We weren't disappointed. The portions are large (the fry bread is the size of a plate), the food is great and the service is quick. Try the Pueblo French dip! The dipping au jus is out of this world.

We only had 2 or 3 hours at the museum, and that wasn't nearly enough.

The museum lives up to its name of presenting both science and history; sometimes a single exhibit combines both approaches. For example, there is one area set up to illustrate the various techniques that the scientists used at Los Alamos when they were developing the first atomic bomb. Small groups of equipment, with explanatory signs, show the various processes that the atomic workers carried out. Each of those small exhibits is part of larger "stage set", furnished with racks of period scientific equipment, period furniture, period lamps, period mechanical desk calculators, and the like.

The museum has full-size mockups of the bombs dropped in World War II. Staff members are there to explain how they worked. They have genuine versions of other nuclear hardware, such as the outer casings of nuclear bombs that were dumped into the ocean near Spain when a B-52 collided with another airplane. I was shocked at the small sizes of those and some of the other, even smaller, nuclear bombs.

The museum also shows the cultural side of nuclear power; you can watch the "duck and cover' videos that instructed school children to hide under their desks during a nuclear attack.

In the museum's back yard are nuclear era aircraft, such as the WW II B-29 Superfortress and the later B-47 Stratojet. Next to those planes is the conning tower of a nuclear missile submarine, the USS James K Polk, looking as if the sub had just surfaced in the middle of Albuquerque!

Nice 2 mile easy walk with lots of petroglyphs. Recommend that you bring binoculars for the ones that are further away. Saw lots of lizards, as well:-)

Always nice, always crowded. Every year or so they out-do themselves and add more fun. This year there were drone shows and dueling fireworks. You can never predict which special shapes are launching but there’s always lots to do. We found the NASA tent this year.

This place is amazing! The grounds were so well maintained. There was a vast variety of plants from around the world. The workers were so nice and helpful. There was a bugkeeper who told us all about the goliath beetles and let us pet one. Their insect conservation team was so passionate. They have a model train set that stretches so far! My train pic doesnt quite capture the scale of that train track. Worth the visit if you find yourself in ABQ

I'm so grateful for my son's summer camp experience!

I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to the counselors and staff at Zoo camp for making my son's summer unforgettable. He had the absolute best time, and I'm so thankful for all the memories he made.

We spent most of our visit in the Earth history part of the museum, full of fossils of dinosaurs and other prehistoric life. Each section has signs that explain how those fossils fit into the development of life. The signs have a good balance between being long enough to give you a good idea of what's in the exhibit and being short enough that you don't feel flooded with more details than you can take in. The signs are in both English and Spanish.

As you walk from room to room, you retrace the history of life on Earth from earliest times to the geologically recent. In the last room, be sure to look up, to see the saber-tooth cat preparing to pounce!

The museum has other exhibits, but the history of life was what we concentrated on.

On the day that we visited, museum staff had telescopes set up outside so that we could look at the Sun. Also, a team from NASA had unrolled a large photo-map of the Moon on the floor of an upstairs room. All of us who visited that day could become "Moon walkers"!
