I love this place for my evening stroll or jogging. It looks so neat always. Nice location for spending time with children, because there are a playground, stadium, swimming pool, a small pond with ducks and so on. Highly recommend it for Longford town citizens and quests of the town.

I love visiting Longford Garden centre, when |I need advice on choice of plants, shrubs, fruit trees and their suitability for the type of soil in my garden. Laura is always delighted to offer her advice, and share her great experience. She has a very wide variety of flowers, trees, shrubs, bedding plants, garden ornaments, and pots on sale, everything you need for a garden.
Highly recommend Longford Garden Centre for all your gardening needs.

A hidden gem. Beautiful spot 30 mins from Athlone and across the border into Longford. You will need to use Google maps to find this spot. A part of Lough Ree. Beautiful vistas at this section of the lough. Quiet and peace ful. An old graveyard on the island. Highly recommended for the photographer in you. Photos to follow.

Our family was visiting sites associated with the Irish Potato Famine which brought us to the County of Roscommon and the Strokestown Famine Museum. This graveyard is not far away and easily accessible with a small parking area for 3-4 cars adjacent. Many of the headstones are still readable and the church in disrepair but still very much erect. Some of the graves date from the mid 1800s during the famine but unlike the mass graves near the workhouses are more likely those of persons more well off given the formal burial. There are no staff on site and the only marking at the gate is the plaque photographed.

I enjoyed my visit to see a game in Pearse Park, my first trip back since seeing the Dublin team edge a tight game with Longford in the championship in front of a packed house in 2006.
A lot of work has been done on the stadium since and the capacity is now only 8,000. i didn't see the best of it on this visit to be fair as a lot of remedial work was going on and the place was like a building site. So it is a work in progress to be fair and probably unfair of me to rate it too harshly. As it was on our visit though, facilities were a bit on the basic side!
Anyway, the terrace we stood on has good, clear unobstructed views and there was a good atmosphere even though it was only a small crowd this time.
I really don't know what else to say to review it accurately as it is in a state of flux, that's why I am listing it though, so that myself and others can comment as it is developed!

I am a member of a Golf Society and yesterday 8th May 2019 we had an outing to Co Longford Golf Club. While I was not at all impressed with the course, although the greens were excellent, the food in the club house was very good.
