Nice location for spending time with children, because there are a playground, stadium, swimming pool, a small pond with ducks and so on. Highly recommend it for Longford town citizens and quests of the town.Written 23 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A part of Lough Ree. Beautiful vistas at this section of the lough. Quiet and peace ful. An old graveyard on the island. Highly recommended for the photographer in you. - gregpetermilwaukee153 contributionsOur family was visiting sites associated with the Irish Potato Famine which brought us to the County of Roscommon and the Strokestown Famine Museum. This graveyard is not far away and easily accessible with a small parking area for 3-4 cars adjacent. Many of the headstones are still readable and the church in disrepair but still very much erect. Some of the graves date from the mid 1800s during the famine but unlike the mass graves near the workhouses are more likely those of persons more well off given the formal burial. There are no staff on site and the only marking at the gate is the plaque photographed.Written 27 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland8,868 contributionsI enjoyed my visit to see a game in Pearse Park, my first trip back since seeing the Dublin team edge a tight game with Longford in the championship in front of a packed house in 2006.
A lot of work has been done on the stadium since and the capacity is now only 8,000. i didn't see the best of it on this visit to be fair as a lot of remedial work was going on and the place was like a building site. So it is a work in progress to be fair and probably unfair of me to rate it too harshly. As it was on our visit though, facilities were a bit on the basic side!
Anyway, the terrace we stood on has good, clear unobstructed views and there was a good atmosphere even though it was only a small crowd this time.
I really don't know what else to say to review it accurately as it is in a state of flux, that's why I am listing it though, so that myself and others can comment as it is developed!Written 14 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While I was not at all impressed with the course, although the greens were excellent, the food in the club house was very good.Written 9 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
