What a fun and interesting way to get up the mountain. We enjoyed the funicular as well as the walk around Montecatini Alto.

WE walked up by the Via Croce and back by the Via Amore it was well worth it. We visited both churches, the clock tower we couldn't work out if it was working, and generally had a good look round at the many historic buildings .WE also had a good lunch at the restaurant at the top left of the Piazza but can't remember it's name

Beautiful building and well worth a visit and a coffee or drink in the fabulous bar/cafe. Only issue is lack of information on how and when you can access the thermal waters .. we wandered around and eventually came back to the ticket desk to be told only people with doctors prescription could access the waters ??

A little difficult to reach without a car but if you feel safe walking up and down hill on the side of narrow roads then you will be rewarded by this small complex. We had a young local guide who escorted our mixed group of Brits, Spanish and Germans and her linguistic skills were good enough to show and explain the small complex. We all had to wear safety helmets which was just as well because it was a little cramped at times and heads were banged! Oh, the price was €7 each. It was quiet while we were there and the restaurant/ cafe was not open.
There is a large car park

The Three Tenors tribute, a truly great evening entertainment, fantastic acoustics and venue. The Tenors were perfect as was the pianist. This was our first visit to an opera venue, even though we didn't understand the songs, you could get the gist from the tenors delivery

As the title says, the food is of a higher standard than pretty much anywhere else within Montecatini. Best to book ahead during peak season. We had to wait 30 minutes for table but it can also just be your luck when you show up. Our servers were very friendly and helpful in recommending accompanying wine with our meal. Given the location, it's really a must-do kinda thing on your holiday. Get some amazing snaps from the view next to the church, eat some great food, drink wine and then enjoy the funicolare on the way back down.

Station is nice and clean, easily accessible for hotels in the town and ideally placed as a base to explore Tuscany.
Trains were frequent and ran to time.
Unfortunately we found the ticket machines tough to use, even when following in English!
There was not a ticket office that we could use.
Suggest tickets are bought on line and then it would all be easy.

Fontana Guidotti is a lovely fountain located in Piazza del Popolo in Montecatini Terme. It is a great landmark to use to meet at when strolling about the area. There are several shops and restaurants nearby. The sound of the water raining down into the pool around the fountain is quite calming.

Nice place to walk and eat, and see the sites, in Montecatini. A good hub from which to explore outward around town.

The Mo.C.A. Montecatini Contemporary Art museum is a not to be missed treasure that is well worth stopping by and looking through. Admission is by donation, or free and almost everyone will find something to appreciate or admire within its walls from older, more classical style to newer graffiti style art. One could easily spend a few hours here strolling around the contrasting exhibits. It reinforced to me that art comes in many different shapes, styles and sizes. I gave it 5 stars because of it's central location and low/no cost admission.

I went to Sunday Mass. The church looks modern and is probably not that old, so wouldn't recommend it as a tourist site. But they had a booklet with the entire Mass available, which was great for this non-Italian speaking attendee. I understood enough from the text to follow along.
