What travellers are saying
- nw05250London, UK468 contributionsGo now. Stunning. Smaller and more intimate than the Palazzo Ducale making it easier to get everything in. But for the 3 groups of school children on a tour the rooms were basically empty making for comfortable viewing of the many great art pieces on offer.Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - linskitoursHarpenden, UK588 contributionsWe went in just in time to see this fine church dressed for a wedding. We had to leave for it after about 20 minutes. My wife, a kern and very able flower arranger, really enjoyed the visit chatting to the team who had created superb floral displays down each side of the aisle. The final bonus was the organist rehearsing as we were ushered out.Written 14 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - triptraveller356 contributionsTeatro Bibiena is an absolute gem !
A small theatre that is a hall with wooden boxes and a balcony with boxes-- considered one of the most significant European, architectural creations of its time (18th C.).

We spent 2 hours (and, yes, add on the Camera in the San Giorgio tower). We kept going from amazing room to amazing room. (And peek out the windows for the views of the surrounding lakes). it was one of the highlights of our trip and we had known nothing about it.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - adventuresincrazydadBurbank, CA41 contributionsWe went to Mantua as a somewhat spur of the moment detour. We very much liked it. The Camera is astounding. We'd seen pictures before in art books and it lived up to its billing. The whole Ducal palace was a revelation.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- exiledblueRovellasca, Italy543 contributionsFascinating to see a house with its original furniture. The guide (in Italian) was excellent, he knowledge about every item, every date was something to behold. Personally I absolutely loved the room with the paper 'wallpaper' and the zodiac room in the building behind.
Check out the menu they used to eat, was full just reading it.

Many exhibits that are well presented including models, helmets, helicopters and a huge range of historic fire appliances (some restored). We looked in on a Monday when closed but we’re welcomed by one of the enthusiastic volunteers (former fire fighter). A must for fire fighting enthusiasts but also of general interest.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WarbyBicester, UK3,797 contributionsI drove over the bridge early evening in Autumn. Amazing views with all the history in front of you. Great Skyline and entry to this beautiful townWritten 13 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- The MGermany126 contributionsI had never expected such a beauty inside the building. Every single room is an incredible piece of art by itself and would alone be worth a visit. You start getting used to beautiful paintings on ceilings and walls.
I’m not sure why they charge you 6€ extra for the camera degli sposi. It’s marvelous but you’d also find equal beauty in all the other rooms that are I clouded in the normal price.

- exiledblueRovellasca, Italy543 contributionsLovely big Piazza with a few retaurants in one corner, My only critivìc would be it needs more lights at night as the Palazzo would be so much more photogenicWritten 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
