Enchanting scenery that unfolds to the eyes of visitors, a secret place full of history and magic atmosphere. An emotional journey that conducts visitors in the new section of the underground of Naples. It is situated in Vico del Grottone 4, from to 150 mt. to Plebiscito Square. Until a few years ago it wasa veterinary laboratory, now is the entrance of the Bourbon Tunnel. A staircase with 8 ramps, 33 yards deep descending into the belly of Chiaia. The second entry is in Via Domenico Morelli,40, through the crosswalk of “Quick parking”.The Tunnel was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who, concerned about the outbreak of rebellion, he asked for an escape from the Royal Palace to the barrack in Via della Pace, now Via Morelli. The work was uncompleted and, during the second World War, was used by residents of the area as a military hospital, later becoming the Hall Judicial Deposit. The war left its mark even in the subsoil. That’s way there are handwrite, folding beds, messages of wish and desolation of those who lived it and still maintains its memory. Along the tunnel thereare also the evidences, 530 meters, where visitors can discover the history of real life. Through the spacious streets, it’s easy reachable the network of tunnels and cisterns of seventeenth-century,large buildings, where worked the "pozzari", the only connoisseur of Naples underground. The show is stunning, but that's not finished. On Via Morelli appear statues dating back to fascist period and many cars and motorcycles, abandoned for years, freed from piles of rubbish, arranged and illuminated ad hoc for the route.Nothing is left to chance, even lighting, perfectly integrated with the path of the visitors.Since today everything is possible to visit. Five years ago the scenery was completely different.Rubbish, degradation, wastes of all kinds covered the reliquaries.

Very impressive statues, amazing details and 5* rating for this. But an expensive admission fee for a visit which can't exceed the 30-45 minutes mark, unless you are an arts expert or sculpture enthusiast. An audioguide would help extend the stay, but makes it an even more expensive experience.

Very interesting history. The tour was on a set schedule and took more than an hour. The tour guides seemed over it. Not the most efficient line/ticketing process.

This busy alley in the heart of Naples is famous for its artisan shops selling handcrafted “presepe” or Christmas nativity scene. Also known as Naples’ Christmas Alley, this alley can get extremely crowded as quaint shops selling these figurines spill out into the narrow lane and visitors stop on their tracks to admire the various figurines on display. The figurines are no longer confined to the most typical religious Christmas figures, but have evolved to modern secular characters such as butchers, dancers and footballers. Most of these figurines are not cheap given the painstaking efforts to handcraft them, but getting a Nativity figurine set would definitely make for a unique souvenir from Naples.

An amazing 1.5 hour journey into the underground, interesting stories from the past, narrated in an entertaining way. And very good value for the money. Must do!

You should get to know the theater on a guided tour. You can feel the atmosphere of the past while sitting in the stands or in the box.

Huge museum with a fascinating collection, especially all the Pompeii pieces. The other Egypt, Roman, and Greek collections were a very nice surprise.

This beautiful seafront promenade was a delightful surprise to me on my recent short visit to Naples. I walked it for an hour one way, and an hour back. A highlight of my trip.

We visited Santa Chiara which is a religious complex whilst on our walking tour.

The religious complex includes the church of Santa Chiara, a monastery, tombs and an archeological museum. The facade of Santa Chiara is diagonally across from the church of Gesù Nuovo.

This structure was built in 1313–1340 so a significant historical structure.

The structure did suffer damage after a fire and after the Allied bombings during World War II.

It was restorted and completed in 1953.

We were introduced to Spaccanapoli by our walking tour guide.

It is the straight and narrow main street tin the old historic centre of Naples.

It is the main promenade for tourists and provides access to numerous sights in the area.

Its an extremely busy area and a very lively and interesting area to explore. We enjoyed the mixed seafood cones on one occasion and some delicious street food pizzas on another.

    Its a must experience street.

Fascinating gem in Naples, completely transporting you to some major eras of the city and religion with a very unique take on burials. Our English-speaking tour guide was excellent too!
