My time on this relaxing and invigorating walk along the St. Lawrence River bank was mistakenly entered as a post on Battle of the Windmills Historic Site, which I in fact did not visit, this time around. It is a lovely little park, with its own Lighthouse and a proximity to Fort Wellington, a short walk to the north.
The ruins of a railroad bridge, which once traversed the St, Lawrence, add historical cachet to the site, as well. Shakespeare's Gardens, near the Lighthouse, add shimmer.

Old fort from the early 1800s, mainly used during the war of 1812. It is on the smaller side in comparison to Fort Henry in Kingston but it is still worth the trip. Currently undergoing some renos to the exterior. Great views of the St. Lawrence River

The only place I buy my leather gloves! The one place you can find a variety of gloves styles and fits. I usually walk away with at least 2 pairs as I can always find the right pair to fit and the workmanship is absolutely worth every penny!

I enjoyed the walk along the St. Lawrence River, taking in Shakespeare's Garden, the windmills themselves and the walk to the the ruins of a railroad bridge, partially submerged in the river. I looked at fort Wellington from the road, and noted the community center is named in honour of Leo Boivin, a Prescott native who played for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League, in the 1950s-60s.

Very small little blue church that is surrounded by a large graveyard. Located along highway 2 in-between Prescott and Brockville.

Great place to walk around and unwind. Lovely, well-kept trail along the river. Lots of people enjoy the area for walking their dogs, running or even just walking.

We loved walking around the gardens, taking pictures, seeing the stage and the seating in the gardens. The landscaping staff was friendly and pointed out places of interest along the walkway.

Close to town, so within walking distance, nice sandy beach, washrooms usually available. A few benches in the area, could use more by the Beach.

Well protected marina, a large rock wall protects the boats from waves from the river. Marina is maintained by City Staff.
