- Gary BPrescott, AZ207 contributionsMy time on this relaxing and invigorating walk along the St. Lawrence River bank was mistakenly entered as a post on Battle of the Windmills Historic Site, which I in fact did not visit, this time around. It is a lovely little park, with its own Lighthouse and a proximity to Fort Wellington, a short walk to the north.
The ruins of a railroad bridge, which once traversed the St, Lawrence, add historical cachet to the site, as well. It is on the smaller side in comparison to Fort Henry in Kingston but it is still worth the trip. Currently undergoing some renos to the exterior. - Gary BPrescott, AZ207 contributionsI enjoyed the walk along the St. Lawrence River, taking in Shakespeare's Garden, the windmills themselves and the walk to the the ruins of a railroad bridge, partially submerged in the river.
