Emplisi beach is a stony beach nestled in an enchanting bay with turquoise waters. The only downside is that is a bit busy. We went at the end of August but still, it was quite crowded with children.
There is a little bar selling food and drinks which also rents sunbeds. Emplisi beach is just a couple of minutes by car from Fiskardo. You can also reach the beach by walking along the main road. Don’t try to find a trail as we did because there isn’t one! Someone on the internet said there was a path from the ancient basilica in Fiskardo, so we decided to give it a go. We took the path and ended up in a resort asking a gardener for information!
So maybe it’s better to drive there. You can park alongside the street. If you decide to walk it should take around 20/25 minutes.
On the contrary, you might want to take the path just behind the bar. There is a gate but is open: from here just walk along the coast and enjoy the stunning view over Emplisi beach. This trail will take you to the secluded and lesser-known Manali beach.

On our Holland American tour, we drove to the town of Fiskardo at the other end of the island from Argostoli. Fiskardo is the only community on the island not destroyed by the great earthquake of 1953 and is reported to be the most picturesque village on the island. We parked at the top of the hill and walked down the hill via the street. At Fiskardo, we spent about 45 minutes on our own, where we did some shopping and walked as far as the Roman Cemetery. Then we came back to have lunch at the Apagio Restaurant. We were served Kefalonian Meat Pies (a dish of filo pastry filled with pork, lamb, rice and herbs), a traditional local food. We walked back up to the bus via the stairs.
This is indeed a beautiful town with a great harbour. Definitely worth a visit.

A bit of a walk from carpark (5 minutes) but so beautiful and a few yachts in bay on day we were there with people enjoying water sports activities. Turquoise sea.

the beach is in a nice secluded spot, which means you need to descend through the forest. Once there it's beautiful, and if it was not for the wasps we would have stayed longer.

Not a trek, more of a stroll. Well worth exploring the peninsular and it will only take you 30 minutes, an hour maximum...

Very pleasant and protected beach well worth a visit. There is a newly build taverna there that looked good but was closed when we visited in October.

We walked this as a small group, our third walk in the Fiskardo area in three days. We started from Fiskardo band walk along the road to pick up the trail up the hill to Tselentata. The path is well marked and with the Windy maps app we didn't get list those it was a bit hot by the time we finished at 11am. It took us two hours. Take plenty of water and wear suitable footwear.

Do not pass this beach by as once you get down on to it you realise how pictureresque it is.The apartments by the water give such a lovely backdrop,it makes for amazing photos. The snorkling here was like being in an aquarium like all of the Fiscardo beaches. This beach is just so charming loved it.

Not sure how long the basilica will survive as there are serious structural problems with some of the remaining walls. But its an evocative place to visit. Same walk takes you to the lighthouse as well.

We were on a short 4 night spring break in Kefalonia and we’re fortunate to stumble across Fabio on the harbour at Fiskardo. We hired 4 e-bikes from him, which he delivered to our apartment about 4 miles out of Fiskardo. We were a group of two women and two teenagers and had never used e-bikes before. We were initially cautious but we shouldn’t have been. We are total converts. This is the best way to see the island. The bikes are so simple to operate and they make the steep slopes of the island seem a breeze. We initially hired them for a day but decided to keep hold of them - Fabio was really accommodating and drive out again to our apartment with the chargers. The bikes came with locks, helmets, backpacks, maps and first aid kits. I would totally recommend Ionian Discoveries. Fabio could not have been more friendly, accommodating or helpful.

Located in a very nice place in Kefalonia, Fiskardo divers was a very good surprise to me. I was welcomed by a super helpful team, who soon provided the good dive equipment and helped me to carry and set up everything. Besides the incredible dive sites, I was impressed with the kindness of Cedric and his team that made me feel very safe to return diving after 3 years stopped.
So thank you, Fiskardo Divers! I hope I have a chance to dive with you again!

We had a great day out on the water! We rented a boat for the whole day and enjoyed exploring the area coves and beaches!
Regina is amazing and very helpful , as it was our first time renting a boat!
The boats have big sunshade and large comfortable cushions for sunbathing! A cooler is provided as well water and juice , which was very appreciated!
    Highly recommend!
    Thank you so much Regina!😊🐬
