Beautiful beach with white soft sand which stretches for miles. 10 mins walk from Praia Verde hotel through pine woods and quiet residential roads. Toilets at the top next to a very expensive restaurant (looled lovely but pricey!). Water very cold in May as would expect for the Atlantic but quite exhilarating if you get shoulders under!

I checked out all the beach towns west of Tavira, and the best were Tavira Island and Praia do Cabeço. The latter is the same as Praia Verde, but the restaurant is much more reasonable and still very good. Tavira Island has many more restaurants and a similar beach, but you have to take a ferry to get there.

Great views from the castle ramparts. Interesting to see the castle in a relatively unimproved state as it gave a very authentic feel.
Maybe a little more information could be provided, we saw signs indicating an audio tour but wasn’t offered at entrance.
Cheap entrance fee so still worth the visit.

This site is a nice visit and easily done with children.

We were lucky to go during the annual summer Snail Festival - the good news is you don't have to like eating snails to go!

The Snail Festival starts in the evening around 6.30pm and other than exploring the Revelim itself there were tents set up everywhere, selling food and drinks, and of course snails prepared in different ways.

Everything was extremely affordable - 1€ -1.50€ for beer, most ham / cheese / cakes were around 2€ a serving and 3.50€ for small serving of snails. Plus live music in the tentage, perfect way to experience a little bit of local summer festivities!

    Impressive and well preserved fort.
The fort in itself has not big interest (inside)
There is a nice view on the fort from Castro Marim Castle

I am assuming that this listing is for the central supermarket.
This sells a really great range of fresh local produce at really good prices. The local almonds, which are excellent, were about a third of the price of the ones sold in the shopping centres - the only difference is they have a Produce of Portugal sticker!
Also it has a really good cafe connected which sells excellent food really cheaply. The three of us had lunch of a cheese burger, quiche and poached salmon with chips and salad plus drinks and all came to under €15. It was really good quality
It is really handy if you are visiting the castle so pop in and have a look..

Quality golf course. Don’t be afraid of the yardage off the white tees. Great buggy car provision and club house. Only down side is bar closes a little early in the evening however, just play earlier

What can I say … what an amazing experience! Such a friendly team of people that really made our experience special ! We did the salt bath and mud followed by a 1 hr full body massage - quite possibly the BEST I have ever had ! The salt bath was €8pp the mud €8pp and the massage €60pp totally worth EVERY penny. We also stayed for a lunch of local meats, tomato Sally’s and sangria - perfect end to a perfect day !

This course has 27 holes. Having played here years ago, I was interested to play the new 9, which we did as the front 9, and the old front 9 as our back 9. The new 9 holes are great. One needs a buggie as it is an extremely hilly, interesting and challenging course. The clubhouse seems cold and unfriendly which is a pity - it is high up and the patio overlooks the old 18 fairway - great setting.
