We visited here on our trip from Lefkada to Arta stopping first at the tall 5th C Christian Walls. Discovering they went about a km in each direction, we drove to one end and walked to its center main gate and followed the sign to the 1st C Odeon.
Driving another direction, we found the 575 Basilica A ruins(3rd C bath ruins across the road) and finally drove to the Stadium ruins and the 5,000 seat 1st C Theater which is under reconstruction.
While the museum is worthwhile and straightforward, the 1 mile square site as a whole is unwalkable due to being divided by a very busy and dangerous highway.

Preveza is place for which it can be truly said that it isn’t Parga. It’s ok. Once you’re through the usual industrial sprawl that is the outskirts of any place of any size in Greece and got to the port there’s a nice front; and the old town that lies behind it is quite handsome in places; full of winding alleys with chi-chi shops. We’d been at Nicopolis, and came into Preveza specifically to lunch at Saitan Bazaar, about which we’d heard good things. Saitan Bazaar is in the small street of the same name, and is quite charming; even more so at night, I suspect. Although we really wanted only a light lunch, my companion was enticed by the cuttlefish risotto cooked in its own ink, which she pronounced absolutely wonderful; rich, smooth and absolutely worth the price of entry. I had sausage with mustard, which was well cooked and delicious. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, and the clientele seemed to be mostly regulars. Recommended, but pricey for Greece.

Ρenowned for its beautiful beach and blue waters, Europe's largest coastline with morphology alternating from fine pebble to sand.
The place is ideal for swimming but also for spectacular walks.
The sunset at this location leaves you speechless!
Here you will find fresh fish and seafood as well as cooked at very good prices while you can serve your coffee and cocktail by the sea!
Enjoy with your family or with your other half!

The ruins of an old coastal fort, that is one of the landmarks of the town of Preveza. Overall the main structures of the fort - perimeter walls as well as some of the inside layout - is preserved, but it has a feeling of "abandonment", as there is an obvious lack of maintenance, with garbage laying around, it's a petty!

A classic spot in the old town of Preveza. The church has a very distinctive bell tower, adorned with a clock - hence the name "roloi" (clock in Greek). Very picturesque spot to see, in the middle of a long paved pedestrian street. A must see.

One of our best trips ever! Can't praise highly enough. We saw so many dolphins, swimming and leaping alongside the boat and in the distance, a few turtles popped their heads up and we spotted so much bird life! Many thanks to the friendly family providing the trip, the interesting information, the great music and the delicious food and drink. There was a wonderful atmosphere on board and we can't wait to go back next year!

We've had such a great time with these very experienced (and funny!) guides. They can not only tell you everything about the surroundings, but also a lot of interesting information about the Greek way of living. We loved every minute of it!

Preveza to Igoumenitsa easily and SAFELY.

I spent a LOT of time working out how to get three people from Delphi to the Corfu ferry terminal at Igoumenitsa. We didn’t want to do the trip in one long run, so we’re looking for a stopover and a way to travel.

Bus timetables seemed designed to confuse, so we explored other options.

Finally, we found an excellent taxi service on the net with Lina that took us from Delphi to Preveza, and the next day Alexandros from Preveza Taxi Minivan Transfers took us from Preveza to Igoumenitsa for a very good price.

Alexandros is a really professional driver who can take you anywhere you want to go - he does a lot of trips from Delphi to Thessaloniki, for example.

His manner was relaxed, friendly and very professional. His driving was very, very safe.

    Highly recommended

We chose the best excursion. We went to see the archeological sites and Acheron river where we ate under the trees. It was mythical. The owners, driver and guide where helpful but discreet, leaving us space and time when needed. Thanks!
