- chocolate123Switzerland79 contributionsIn the basilica beautiful floor mosaic as well as nice ceilings. In the crypt many frescoes.
Be aware it closes for siesta, 12 pm - 3 pm.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The town is compact and very cute. Tiny winding streets hide numerous bars, restaurants and local artisan shops. A must see is the Cathedral with amazing floor mosaic.
DO NOT forget your swim suits. The beaches beneath the old town walls are literally postcard like - crystal clear turquoise sea in a shallow bay. We left ours in our rented car, but it wasn't hard for me to walk 20 min back to take them in order to have a swim.Written 6 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place was packed with tourists but we decided mainly for our comfort to rent two lounges and an umbrella which was really worth it.
You will need a good 30 minutes walk to get to the beach as the parking lot is far. Remember you will need to walk back the same path to get to the car but it was really worth it. Highly recommended beach to go to.Written 2 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The signage is confusing, but we followed google maps - I recall foot access was via a private road. The glittering emerald water pool set in bright red and ochre cliffs is quite a sight. Quite serene spot, we were the only ones there !Written 1 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - aleksandra sBelgrade, Serbia480 contributionsWe spend almost 2 h searching for right sand beach between S.Cataldo and Alimini lakes. At some places they asked 5-10eur just to enter by car to see wether it us good for usš¤. The other were to crowded or need to much walk from oarking to see, so we ended up here. There is a parking area just in front of the beach ( 0.80eur/h) wich us idealy positipned at the csnal from the lakes to see. Sunumbrella and 2 bads 15eur, food corner (panino 4eur, water 1,5eur), place for children to play. Normal shower, no extra charge, plase to change. Send is a bit black, which I did nit like, hot like hell but the wster is just perfect. Clear, ckean, heavenly blue, nice to swim.Written 11 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia17,760 contributionsThe Aragonese Castle in Otranto was built during the Spain rule in late 15 c. It occupies a commanding position above the old town protecting the harbor entrance. It's a classic turret castle with a moat around it.
Great views of the old town and entire bay from the tower.Written 6 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - militaru89Bucharest, Romania25 contributionsThis was our most loved experience in Otranto. We got there by car (a couple minutes from Otranto), but you can easily go with a bike. The lighthouse is secluded and spectacular and the little alley going into the sea is simply food for eyes.Written 2 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
