Not to be missed if you are staying at the Hale Koa. The food was great, the entertainment amazing. A true highlight of our week at the Hale Koa.

It was our first time in Hawaii and first Lu'au. We were so glad we picked the right one.

First of all, the scenery was beautiful with our backdrop being the ocean and we can see Diamond Head behind the trees. The open environment was very fitting for such event. However, because of that, it was also very windy, out napkins and plates were always at risk of being blown away.

Regarding the food, it was a chilled feast where you can use your coupon ticket to eat from every stall from the local eateries, which were all super delicious. However, because the food is prepped in portions and laid out, the food were not as hot or "fresh" as we'd like, especially the fish which we thought was kind of smelly. We also could had used more time to eat as well. I felt that we were trying to stuff food down before the stalls were closed and cleaned up, thus rendering us unable to eat all the food that we paid for.

The cultural activities and performance were fun. However, because this is during the dinner time, we didn't have a lot of chances to do them all. The performers were dressed beautifully and super friendly. After dinner time was the show and it was the highlight of the whole Lu'au. The music was beautiful, the MC and performers were funny, energetic, and truly serious about what they do. We enjoyed he show and we're able to take some pictures with them afterward. Super cool.

Had a great time and loved the historical component. I would have given this 5 stars but sadly we were seated at the very back and didn’t have the best view.

The first time I came to Honolulu many, many years ago, I went to see the Kodak Hula show in Queen Kapi'Olani Park like many other tourists. So, I was interested to hear that after over a 2 decade absence, a new hula show was returning.

The new show is a colourful and energetic presentation featuring a number of different hula styles. The dancers, ranging from young adults to some more mature ladies, are backed up by a wonderful all-female band. There is even an opportunity for audience members to go down and learn a few of the hula dance moves. I wasn’t brave enough to participate but many did and I must say, they did a pretty good job!

This hula show is well worth going to see and is suitable for people of all ages and, even better, is free. It is a one-hour show running from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m every Sunday through Thursday.

Awesome… Awesome… Awesome… The absolute best and one of the brightest highlights of my time in Hawaii. The singing, dancing, & interacting of the staff with the guest made each of us feel special… Definitely intimately MAGNIFICENT!!!!
