What travellers are saying
- GourmeGolfSofiaSan Francisco, CA20 contributionsZlatni Rat is undeniably one of the most stunning beaches I’ve visited, with crystal-clear water and gorgeous views. However, the crowds are intense – it feels like you're packed in with everyone else, just like sardines! If you’re looking for a peaceful day, I’d suggest going early or off-season.Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CatharineBOttawa, Canada1,642 contributionsVidova Gora on the island of Brač is, with an altitude of 780 metres, is the highest mountain of the Adriatic archipelago. Its south side descends steeply towards the village of Bol while the northern side is a mild plateau with gentle trails.
It was the perfect place for a walk surrounded by aromatic vegetation and pine forests. My husband took the opportunity to snap close-up pictures of the surrounding vegetation. I read that the path from Bol to Vidova Gora is a demanding hiking trail.
We choose to drive and it was easy to reach by car via a well-developed road. From the parking lot it took about 10 minutes (relatively steep) to the viewpoint.
You should definitely come here, it's the best view of the Golden Horn. If you are on the beach itself it is less spectacular. At the top of there is a 12-metre high cross made from white Brač stone and a resting point with a view over Zlatni Rat beach in Bol but also to the Italian coast on the other side of the Adriatic.
The view that can be enjoyed from here is truly incredible. We were lucky that the day was clear, but we could see all the surrounding islands - Hvar above all - the Dalmatian coast and, obviously, Zlatni Rat beach.
The panorama from Vidova Gora is something not to be missed when visiting the island of Brac. Y can see the low bays of Brac, and across the northern side of the island of Hvar, the Pelješac peninsula, Korcula and Vis. I read that on particularly clear days you can see Monte Gargano on the Apennine peninsula.Written 28 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is slower this time of year so we were only with one other couple on our tour. We felt the price was very fair for the tour (kids were free). The host spent about 20 minutes explaining the history of the location, how the olives are collected , pressed and stored and concludes with some tasting. It was quite interesting and the host included the kids as much as possible. Just a tip- cash is a preferred method of payment!Written 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Navigator396205553651 contributionWe chose to come her to celebrate our recent engagement, based on lots of positive reviews we had seen. We asked for the tasting menu with wine pairing, and the experience did not disappoint. We were very warmly welcomed by Saja, Maggie and their family where we arrived, and were led to a beautifully quaint courtyard as one of three tables that evening. Saja talked us through all of the wine in their expanding winery, and Maggie talked us through all of her wonderful gastronomic creations. Each dish, glass were very special and delicious. The whole experience felt akin to a Michelin star dining experience and our generous hosts made extra effort to acknowledge our special night too. This is an absolute gem on the island! We would definitely come back! Saja and Maggie, you made our time so special!
Would advise that you email them in advance by the address on their website. Useful info for anyone going is that they do take card payment.Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our tour guide was charming, entertaining and educational. I had the classic wine flight, with two white and two red tastings. Generous pours for tastings, and very nice charcuterie platter included, besides the tour. Not cheap but seemed like an excellent value for the experience considering the lovely beachfront location, the historical building, contemporary decor, and outstanding wines. All of us were impressed and none were disappointed. We want more of this wine!Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen L27 contributionsBeautiful little village on the Croatia island of Brac. We were there on May 12 and were disappointed to find all the shops were closed due to it being a Sunday! 😢 Tip: Dont visit on a Sunday…also it was still early in their tourist season, so some of the hotels were not yet open.
Luckily, we had our bathing suits, so we got into the water a bit. (MUST HAVE WATER SHOWS…Rocky beaches with some sea urchins ).
We had a lovely lunch and made our way back to Split on the ferry.Written 15 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There were samples to try without pressure to buy. We did buy because it was such a great experience. Thank you Stefan.Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- James GBirkenhead, UK707 contributionsIf you walk past Dalmatino restaurant and continue past the boatyard in Sumartin you will find 3 small and absolutely stunning little beaches of small pebbles. There are steps down to these beaches and one is divided by a stone jetty. Here the water is so clear and a delicate pale blue colour, clearer than what are otherwise quite nice beaches in Makarska. We had a little beach all to ourselves, there was no need to wear beach shoes as the pebbles were so small, and the water was a nice temperature.Sheer paradise for an hour!Written 26 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stela K4 contributionsBeautiful and secluded beach with clear water, great for snorkeling and relaxing. There were few people when we went in September.
We took a taxi from Bol to Murvica and walked back (the way back is predominantly downhill, so I believe it would have been quite tiring if we had walked the way up there too).
There is only one bar before the steep path to the beach that only accepts cash.Written 28 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The walk from the port over has a couple of seedy streets, so after dark might not be a good idea. The port town seems very safe.Written 13 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Janos C1 contributionWe spent 10 days on Brac, Bol mainly at Borak beach, but tried Lovrecina bay as a day trip, because of its nice location. Arrived by car (40min away from Bol) around 9.30 and found a nice parking place with shadow (4€per day). Yes, the way ther was curvy and steep, but safe, my advice try to arrive early and leave late, you will not have problems with facing traffic on a small road. The beach was really sandy with some rocks and stones aside. The area where people can expand themeselves allows only one (max 2) row directly on the beach, and a great areal a small wall above it, which makes it really comfy anf feels like private beach. Quite a lot of vessels with tourist or private boats anchor in the bay off shore, so do not disturb. Far on the mainland you see the hills of Omis (also a nice spot and beach). Water was shallow, ideal for small kids, and at some places cooler than usual, probably because of the fresh water sources feeding into the bay. It was nice fish swarms and other molluscs, crabs fauna and flora under water which amazed us. Sup was nice with small kids as they could paddle on their own in shallor water without large waves. We were hit by some little storm and rain coming from mainland and sought shelter in the beach restaurand. Got nice service and great seafood, not really expensive, great quality (two person cold sea platter with smoked tuna, octopus salad, small fish, etc. bread 30€, and kids got fried calamari, tuna salad, fries for 25€). We left fully satisfied at 16:30.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
