I had some private family business to take care of in Central Park. I happened upon the Hallett Nature Sanctuary, which was a beautiful oasis within the oasis of Central Park. There were winding trails with lookouts and rock outcroppings overlooking water below. Before I went in, I encountered a park worker, Austin, who really helped me out. He stopped what he was doing and showed me his favorite parks of the sanctuary, where he would bring dates in the past, and later, his kids. It was clear he loved Central Park and loved working there. I really appreciate his kindness that day.

We recommend booking crown access months in advance - we missed out. The pedestal access still offered amazing harbor views. Security lines were lengthy, but seeing this iconic symbol up close gave us goosebumps.

Times Square is exactly the American icon it means to be. Flashing billboards, tons of people, characters dressed in tacky costumes hoping tourists will pay them for a picture, and lots of shopping and restaurants (the latter were not as impressive, as most of the restaurants and stores right on the square are chains. Try a food truck instead). It was fun just to walk around and people watch.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was an unforgettable experience! The views of the Manhattan skyline are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. The bridge’s iconic towers and architecture are amazing up close, and it’s a perfect spot for capturing great photos.

Even though it can get busy, the lively atmosphere adds to the charm. Whether you’re walking with friends or solo, it’s an unforgettable way to take in the beauty of New York City. Don’t miss it!

Stunning district as always. Lights, buildings, shows everywhere. It's still crowded and absolutely deserve to visit and to see any performance.

Great views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. Punctual ferry. The terminal gets v busy and theres a stampede to get on but the photo opportunities are great.
Beware of the people selling tours outside- the ferry is generally free.

The Rockefeller Center is a must-visit spot in the heart of NYC, offering shopping, dining, and unique attractions. The famous ice skating rink is a highlight, especially in winter. The center is also home to a variety of stores, restaurants, and events, including the iconic Christmas tree. With its central location and vibrant atmosphere, it’s a great place to explore year-round.

Bryant Park is a must visit every time and all throughout the year, but especially during the Christmas holiday season. The holiday market and food options are almost overwhelming - in a good way. Ice skating and igloos and snacks and food - what’s not to love. Maybe the crowds, which are really heavy on the weekends. But if the crowds deter you, plan for a visit during the week and/or earlier in the day. It’s definitely worth the visit - and the crowds.

I went with the Ambassador travel club in Indianapolis where I've been living for several decades now but originally I'm from Queens, NY. My mom used to take my sister and me to Radio City when we were kids. As an adult, I worked across the street and was given free tickets for the show by my employer. It's always been a special treat to see the show, the moving orchestra, the grand staircase, the hidden organ player, and especially the Rocketts. As kids, we'd see a movie and a show. Every employee there treated me with efficiency and speed. On this trip I offered a tip to the young woman directing lines in the ladies room but she said they weren't allowed to accept tips. Every attendant, server, motorcoach driver with our group, maid, waiter, etc. I encountered in NY made me proud. Keep up the great work people - you're the best!

So beautiful! We happen to visit on Sunday, December 1 and attended the first Sunday in Advent Christmas service. The organ fills the church and so angelic! The stain glass, the intricate details are amazing! The manager scene is incredible! You can respectfully enter the church and walk around, no reservations required and no fee. A truly incredible experience! Highly recommend! The Lotte Hotel is across the street and also a must see!

Fun, inexpensive way to see some great views. Smooth ride. Good for families. Explore the parks and paths on Roosevelt Island. See the small pox hospital ruins. Then eat at Granny Annie’s.
