Several peaceful courtyards and plenty of amazing medieval art. The collection of tapestries was particularly impressive. - brienanniKita, Mali258 contributionsThis is an amazing collection, three magnificent Vermeer's kick off the visit, intimately displayed in room of their own. You can visit the whole museum in 1-2 hours, so you don't get overfed with art. I actually enjoyed this more than the big ones.Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kathleennyc2017New York City, NY2 contributionsOur tour guide was Susan Slater. She was amazing! She knew the history and so many details about the renovation, the features, the art, and the function of the synagogue. Sue spoke clearly and answered all our our questions so well. When she took us to view the sanctuary, she dramatically opened the door so that we could see the splendor of it all, as an awesome surprise. I highly recommend her as a guide.Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Thomas VOakland, CA18,534 contributionsYou can come here for the museums along the Park, for entrances to the Park, for Lincoln Center and the fine arts, for Columbia University and some great architecture, and for Seinfeld country, the part of town where the sitcom was staged. It's a great place to live, lots of good apartments. Also lots of food.Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mishmosh_1Cincinnati, OH186 contributionsWe did the tour with the docent guide, rather than self guided. It was great! The house is interesting, a real time capsule right in the middle of nyc. Amazing that it is still there and preserved. The guide helped everyone understand what the day to day lifestyle was like at the time for the family who lived there and their staff. He also pointed out details that were easy to miss otherwise. At the end you can wander around and look at everything on your own. We are so glad we managed to fit this experience into our trip. We learned a lot. TIPS: Book ahead—the docent-led tour is small and sells out. There is a coat room and restrooms. A small part is outdoors in the garden. There are lots of stairs! It’s tight in many spots so dont carry big bags on the tour. There is a tiny gift shop corner near the ticket desk.Written 2 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I wish I would have read about it prior to visiting. the exhibits were beautifully displayed with just enough information so as to not be overwhelming. we didn't read everything and I think we might have even missed so things but we enjoyed our time here.
