The walk is chill and beautiful if you're in for it. There is also a lot of charm here, narrow tree-lined streets with attractive row houses and apartment buildings. Well-served by the subway system. Had lunch at nearby market and then strolled the island park . Must do if you are in the area. It runs along the Hudson River and links up many important neighborhoods. You can take a short walk or a very long one, all good. Great views. - David SNew York City, NY83 contributionsEverybody loves this place, and for good reason. It's one of the best-known and most respected jazz clubs in the city. The sound system is excellent and the vibe is terrific. Drinks are inexpensive, and the price of tickets is quite fair.

What makes it worth visiting is that it looks like it had been a church in the past. The outside looks like a church and inside there is an interesting winding staircase with some pretty stained-glass windows. You can visit the apartment in the West Village and you can tell which one it is because there is usually a crowd of people in front of it. Our daughter has a picture book on Stonewall, and it was important to us for her to be able to make a physical connection to the place.
