We'd only arrived in New York a few hours earlier but we wanted to join the walk along the High Line guided by one of the High Line Volunteers. It's an amazing space on an old railway viaduct that has been converted into a green oasis. Lots of work has gone into making a layer for the plants to thrive. Along the way there are various artworks too. Some were specially comissioned for the location.

One of the amazing things to me was that when it was originally constructed to bring meat into the packing factories it was constructed through the buildings that were there at the time. You can still see a few where the High Line goes through and the building is shaped around it.

Taking the guided walk we learnt a lot about its construction and the continuing efforts to save it from the developers. It's worth the effort getting there and there are views of the river and the city too

It was a very good trip, I mean it was free, so that's always a plus. The view was amazing, I got to have clear cut photos of the Statue of Liberty. The ocean breeze was so nice, it was decently clean, the wait for the Ferry wasn't so bad either (only about 15 minutes). The only negative I had was that I had to wait an extra 20 minutes because of a "technical issue" which sucked but I'm sure it doesn't happen often. Other than that it was a good quality trip to get me from point A to point B.

In front of the Rockefeller Center, it is a beautiful station, with many shops, stores and options inside. Nice place for photos.

This is an excellent museum. They have done a fantastic job in returning this 1863 tenement building to its original state, complete with furniture. The visit takes about one and a half hours. All visits are guided which is great, our guide Erica was excellent with a wealth of information about how immigrants who arrived in the late 1800s lived in this kind of building. You can chose from several tour themes. This is an essential visit if you are in New York. It's a bit off the main parts of tourist New York but well worth the journey, there is a subway station at Delancy. There is a shop and bathrooms in the reception building. We walked back from here to Chinatown, quite an interesting walk.

Always fun to come here as there are so many charming tree-lined streets. You will find many good restaurants and fun bars. it's an area well-served by public transit. It's used to be very much a village, a special corner of the city. Over-gentrification changed that, lots of unique businesses got priced out. But the area retains its charm and is still a lot of fun.

My time in SoHo was was extremely fun and exciting. I travelled here by train with a couple of friends and loved the food and shops! From shopping at trendy stores to enjoying the building scenery, I had a very pleasant experience. We tried Mamoun's Falafel, which is a good walking distance from New York University (NYU) and we walked to small business thrift shops like Hamlet's Vintage. Walking was easy and transportation was very accessible. Overall, I had a very positive experience and will be revisiting in the winter time!

Definitely a tourist activity that is a must do in NYC if you know the show Friends. Of course, it is just a facade and not their “real” apartment, but fun to see.

A lovely area. We didn’t really explore the shops but the food court was fantastic with lots of choice. It was bright with loads of seating and a lovely view.

We put together our own walking tour and included the Ghostbusters firehouse. Stop for a quick photo, its nothing more than that but it also doesn't need to be anything more.
