Charming, incredible, a spectacular place to visit and experience that American culture along with all those lights, signs, advertisements, there are so many incredible photos to take.
We had a couple of hours to spare on our last day in NYC and one attraction left on our Explorer Pass to headed off to Madame Tussauds. Itreally is prettyv cheesy, but there has been some effort put into grouping the celebrities and present them thematically. There is also a 10 minute Marvel Universe 4D movie which is entertaining enough.
My 9 year old and I ,were fortunate to have won 2 tickets on Broadway direct. On August the 14th of 2024 , we went to see Wicked. We had an amazing time! The show was an incredible experience. I believe the moral of the story was crucial for those returning to school. The tickets were about $70 plus tax and we had amazing Orchestra seating. After, my daughter and I caught a cab to Prince tea house. Where we are regulars. My daughter dressed up as Elphaba with help from her older brother who is a talented artist. At the end of the play there was a meet and greet with the staff. Thank you for the experience!
We literally followed the music. We could hear the most amazing soulful and powerful music and we had to figure out where it was coming from. We only stayed for a short time due to time contraints, however was well worth a visit. The spiritual music was truly beautiful and awe-inspiring.
Went and saw GREAT GATSBY matinee on a saturday. what a great show. the seating is ample and a decent view as it is stadium-type seating. you really didn't have a bad seat from what i could tell.
PROS: easy to get to - NYC is all about public transpo or cab/rideshare or the shoe leather express. it's close to times square and a bunch of tourist areas
CONS: line for the bar was very long - drinks pricey - but $10 got you a gatsby souvenir cup with soda and free refills on the cup. so if you wanted to get a drink before the show, during intermission, and then after the show, this would move to the PROS area as you would get your money's worth.
The play Harry Potter and the cursed child was so amazing! The theater is part of the production and you feel like you are actually part of it. We all enjoyed it so much!
I just have to give a BIG Texas thank you to the gentleman at the ticket counter on July 11th! We had tickets for 1pm and I had it in my head it was at 2. We got there late and he did a miracle for us to be able to see it that night in a similar section! My mother would have been out so much money and he was so kind and only gave me a little bit of a hard time, haha. LOVED the show (we saw MJ), the theater was very nice with bathroom attendant and all. It was a highlight of our trip that we could have easily missed!
What a great theatre!!!! Went to see Moulin Rouge....with guest star Boy George. The show was fantastic set in this amazing theatre. Seats were pretty comfy, not much leg room, but then again I have long legs. At intermission I walked up to the balcony and have to say the view from up there was spectacular...you could see the entire stage. The crew at the theatre did a great job getting everyone in and out...and help finding seats.
Beautiful theater with a lot of character. I don’t think there are bad seats in the theater. We has seats in the middle of the second section and could see everything perfectly.
The seats are small and close. Cozy - think airplane seats. Also, there is one bathroom in the basement and although it moves quickly, they need to add 5-10 minutes to the intermission. We almost missed the second half because we were in the back of the line. Getting a class of wine and merch prior was easy and lines moved quickly.
Although the name of the production is “Aladdin” however, for me, the star of the show was the Gene! The colours, singing, dancing - it was like watching the movie Live!
The seating is relaxed - two to a table, generally good views to the stage, food (e.g. ribs) is fine (not really great) and the acoustics are just superb. But what I personally appreciated best was the consideration and friendliness of the staff which contrasts so much with some other Jazz Clubs (e.g. Blue Note). And the music? The music is the best jazz you can find probably anywhere.
My friend and I went to see "A Sign of the Times" while in NYC. Wonderful show, great actors. We prefer off-Broadway as the shows are excellent and less pricey (so you can see more of them!). This theatre has 5+ stages and there is always something going on. I like that you can take food and drink into the theater. The staff were very helpful and gracious. We enjoyed our visit and recommend this theater.
