- Dev G1 contributionBoth times I took quite car from DC to Newport News and not one attendant invoked the quiet room some people get on there speak on speakerphone loud and cussed and no one says a word or comes through to remind them this is a quiet car turn your cell phones off or use phone and speak in quite voice , if you need to talk go to the coach car , no one does that and that's very annoying.Written 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mwnci69Conwy, UK32 contributionsTravelled from Grand Central up the Hudson to Tarrytown, and returned. The train was clean, air-conditioned, spacious, punctual, and easy with the App. The views of Harlem, The Bronx and the Hudson River/valley are absolutely stunning. Great value too.Written 25 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Debbie GPort Hueneme, CA109 contributionsMy husband and I was really looking forward to this trip, as it was a first for us to see all that was listed on the itinerary- Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montréal, Quebec, Queen Mary 2, Nova Scotia and NYC.
Anthony Vargas from Uncommon Journey, did a fine job making Amtrak reservations from the West Coast to Albany, NY. Head available every time we had questions or returned our call quickly.
Twenty travelers were in the group and our tour guide was Teresa Archibald. They allowed enough time for us to visit each city on our own. But we did enjoy the group tours. The highlight for us was Niagara Falls. The visit through Niagara-by-the Lake was too short, only 1 hour. Could have been longer.
I know there is a need to keep on schedule. And with older travelers, personally, I know it’s tiring sitting on a bus for hours at a time.
Everything we saw was interesting, the underground tunnels and paths, the old French quarters, the beautiful buildings and cathedrals.
I would highly recommend taking an Uncommon Journey trip opposed to doing all the planning yourselves. If you don’t want to hassle with luggage and transportation, these are the trips for you.
Great job, Christopher, Anthony and Teresa.Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
