The acoustics are incredible. Bought balcony tickets - had to walk up a flight of stairs to get the the elevator. Coming out was a zoo - getting in was easy - since people came at various times.

Seating in the balcony is very tight. I'm 6' tall and 220 lbs and barely could fit in the seat. No legroom whatsoever. I ended up taking an empty aisle seat and having my legs out in the aisle for the show.

Historic venue for sure and an incredible experience.

We were here this time for the annual Tedeschi Trucks Band residency. This a beautiful, quaint, old theatre. The ceiling is gorgeous, but in spite of its' beauty, I do not believe that it is handicap accessible. I haven't seen and elevator so their are stairs to climb to get to the balcony seats. They will do a seat upgrade. My husband had recent hip replacement surgery and they accomodated us with great orchestra seats instead of balcony seats, but we did have to pay the extra money for the upgrade. I also need ear plugs and forgot to bring them. I inquired about them and they did give me a free pair. Staff are obviously very accomodating and friendly. We would come back here again and again!

Such a fun night we went back again a couple weeks later, and I’m going to bring my sister when she visits me from out of town next month.

We came here to see Jinjer. The venue itself is great - not too big or too small.

The drinks however are super expensive and there isn't a wide selection but htere are plenty of eating and drinking places near by.

I love jazz music but yesterday I decided to taste some masterworks series with violin and piano. It was marvelous!!!
Mark Peskanov the artistic director of bargemusic was performing the violin with the fantastic Maureen Volk at piano.
It was my best gift to my ears since long ago.
I’ll return and recommend this place!

Feels like a step into the hayday of rock and roll. Intimate, loud, and energetic. I felt something brush the back of my coat and looked around to see it was Grace Bowers' hair as she passed on her way to the stage. Staff were all helpful. Wear something comfortable for standing in a tight crowd.

Excellent intimate venue for a gig. Drink prices weren’t over the top either. Had heard there might be a delay getting our coats back at the end of the night but found the whole experience to be quick and efficient. We would definitely come back.

We won free tickets from 1iota to see Sabrina Carpenter on the GMA SummerConcert Series. We were there at 5:30am, check in closed at 6am. Everything was well organized. We waited on line for about 30 minutes. After, we walked to the venue inside the park. It was general admission and most people were standing. There were bleachers in the back for those who wish to sit. The mini concert was nice.

We have seen the best talks and pre-screenings here! We see at least two things a year here when we can.

This was a great show. It was humorous but I don’t think I would take a 5 yr old. We enjoyed the music, the comedy and the theater. It was a smaller theater but not a bad seat in the house. There was a lot of content with a subtle sexual undertone that a smaller child probably wouldn’t get but 10+ definitely would. I would recommend seeing it but don’t know that I would pay to see it again.

My husband and I went and saw Anberlin here back in July. I believe the venue is currently closed for a remodel. It was a great show, with a worn-in feel that lended some authenticity to it. While it was packed, we didn't get the feeling of sardines like others have mentioned. Easy enough to navigate through the crowd to get the spot on the floor you wanted, or to exit mid-show.
Typical bar service and merch area like other similar-sized venues. We were on the floor, but there was a second level with its own bar as well. Overall, great show and quality venue that's pretty standard.

I am a music educator and church choir director from Pennsylvania, and I could not have been more pleased with our entire experience with DCINY. From our initial conversations, planning, execution, concert, and follow up, EVERYTHING was professional and organized. What was even better... Jeff, and his entire team are pleasant people! There is nothing worse than working with people who do not care about you and those you are responsible for, but Jeff and his team CARE about everyone they work with. We took our church choir to sing and the feedback that I kept getting from my members (even my ones that were very anxious about traveling) was... "This was the most organized trip" and "everything went so smoothly!"

I HIGHLY suggest that you and your ensemble participate with DCINY!!!

First of all - The Stone is NOT a jazz club.

There is only a place for musicians (not even a stage as such) and several rows of chairs for listeners. There is no bar, no merchandise, nothing but the set of live jazz music. I was there for one of the Sunday 3pm concerts. It is a series of shows taking place every Sunday, during which different musicians play John Zorn's so called "Bagatelles". Excellent music!!!!!!!!!!! Mr Zorn, who as I understand is a founder and spiritus movens of the place, was also there listening to his music played by other musicians.

What I liked the most (apart from the music itself) is the fact, that opposite to the other, famous scenes like Blue Note or Village Vanguard, only real jazz lovers are coming to the place and there are no accidental tourists.

For those interested in avant-garde jazz this is the top NYC jazz place to visit. I will come back for sure.
