We try to visit the MOMA on every visit to NYC. We love the ever changing art displays, dining at the cafe, the coat room organization and of course people watching.

About an hour on the subway from lower Manhattan but absolutely worth it. The Cloisters was built in the 1930s but it's like stepping back several centuries. Doorways, windows and columns from medieval buildings have been incorporated into the building so sensitively so you really believe you are entering a 15th century church or a 16th century cloister. The collection includes altarpieces, devotional statues, sculptures of saints and many other treasures. The $30 entry fee also covers entry to the main Met gallery on the same day but they are several miles apart and each place demands a few hours to do it justice - I spent three and a half hours wandering round the Cloisters at a fairly leisurely pace. You could do it in less time but you may as well enjoy the lovely atmosphere for as long as possible! I went on a Monday and it wasn't very busy. The website advises going to 190th St but I went to Dyckman Street station for getting back downtown afterwards and that felt a little closer once I had found my way out of the park to the main road. From 190th St it is very straightforward - just head from the bottom tip of Fort Tryon Park to the top. It is up an incline and there are some steps but it's a nice walk with wonderful views over the river, and doesn't take too long.

This is an amazing collection, three magnificent Vermeer's kick off the visit, intimately displayed in room of their own. You can visit the whole museum in 1-2 hours, so you don't get overfed with art. I actually enjoyed this more than the big ones.

Very easy wayfinding and fun art in the elevators! We started out, as we often do, on the top floor of a museum. Here it's the seventh and beyond the interesting art inside there's a great terrace view of the city with several interesting sculptures to see. The hit of our visit was the large Edward Hopper (one of our favorites) selection from the permanent collection on view. Wonderful museum that offers something new every time we visit.

Gorgeous furnishings, outstanding art and jewelry in a well organized and logical progression of art. Elevator snd disability enabled snd having a lovely book store and restaurant make it a great outing. Members enjoy longer viewing rights and it is convenient to all public transportation.

Worth a stop in the cafeteria! The lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce are amazing and the espresso drinks are nice and strong.

In terms of the art, the museum is not too large so it is possible to enjoy it pretty comprehensively in 2/or two and a half hours. Get a guided to her if one is available. If you're a NARM member at a different Museum you will get reciprocal free admission.

Really cool, the Tiffany lamps are awesome, worth the price of admission themselves. Plenty of intriguing things to look at here.

I visited the Guggenheim today. I started on floor six and worked my way down. The most positive thing I can say is that it was definitely not my cup of tea. I thought most of the displayed “pieces of art” were depressing…which I guess was the point. Getting a cab outside the museum was quite easy.

Amazing small museum convenient to Museum Mile housed in a gorgeous Beaux-Arts mansion. We were impressed by the exhibit of the works of Es Devlin. From paper models of her ideas to full blown stage sets showing the depth of her creativity and talent. So unique and interesting and a treat for the senses,

convenient location in Columbus Circle. a little pricey for what you get ($18) but I had a pass. there were 3 open floors of galleries plus the lovely goblet display in the stairwell. gorgeous wood carvings in one section, and various other "crafts" showcasing them to actually be just as elevated as "art". exploring what is the difference anyway... ? puppetry, performance art, sculpture, quits, and more gave the visitor plenty to see and enjoy. installations rotate so check what's on! ps - I didn't go the Taylor Swift floor but you are able to see one display on your way to the second floor (which was kind of cool). Nice museum, I would go back.

I discovered the work of Nicholas Roerich in Riga Latvia and was surprised that New York had a museum of his work. It is located on 107 St a short walk from St John the Divine. it is housed in a lovely townhouse off Riverside Drive. It is not only chock full of Roerich's paintings but also will give one an appreciation of his inspiration and commitment to world peace. His paintings are spiritual as well as beautiful. For New Yorkers, this is a treasure you perhaps never knew about and will be thrilled to add to your list of unique NY experiences.

I'd seen the work of these people in the South of France in the extremely exciting setting of a stone mine! The old Emigrants Industrial Savings Bank is the venue here: also fascinating, even the old tellers' windows still line the walls. The Chagall and Kandinsky displays were beautiful and moving. We experienced them on the main floor, but on the lower floor I think the feeling is better, the space is much more iopen. While you're there don't miss the vault! You can see what was the bank's old safe door with its many locks , and the experience ijn the small mirrored room is really phenomenal, a wonderful coda to the display.

Mercer Labs Museum of Art and Technology is a fantastic museum. It has so many different exhibit spaces , I’ve never seen anything like this before. This is the perfect place to come on a date and take as many pictures as you can.

This small museum has beautiful exhibits of Greek antiquities and is normally quiet and lovely. Entrance is down stairs in Olympic Towers public atrium.
