Visiting The National 9/11 Memorial & Museum with my best friends was an incredibly moving experience. The memorial is beautifully designed, and the museum offers such a profound and thoughtful tribute to the events and lives affected. It’s a place that truly leaves you reflecting.
Do not miss this! A beautiful building with fabulous architecture. You can tour it by yourself or sign up for a guided tour. The reading room needs a tour guide to access. We saw the Winnie the Pooh exhibition and the shop is fantastic.
I find the Museum of Sex to be one of the most unusual museums in Manhattan. It had three excellent exhibitions going on. One was the history of Andy Warhol's career in film which is saying a lot since his films were always so weird. Another was on artifacts from the porn industry, which was interesting because of their pieces from different eras and having some of the items from the movie "Deep Throat". The last one was from a exhibition called "Lick It" and it was all X rated items for from the artworld. It was all in fun but it shows how porn has been with us for thousands of years.
Then I walked through 'Funland" which takes you through the lights and sounds of the pleasure palace of the museum, which is a lot of fun. You get to see and experience a lot in the Museum of Sex and it is a fun "X" rated time through a museum.
This is such an interesting and unique museum. We chose the tour called After the Famine : 1869 about a family who emigrated from Ireland. Our tour guide, Karina, was excellent and helped us to really feel what might have been experienced back in the 1860's. Our group had lots of comments and questions which made it even more interesting.
Beautiful exhibition on Da Costa Greene. I would highly recommend it for the exhibition alone. The library itself is stunning and you'll be dumbstruck when you walk into the room. Definite must for NY!
We really enjoyed the 9/11 workshop museum. It was very well put together and humbling. The staff were excellent and we highly recommend adding this experience to your trip
The show exceeded our expectations. The singing and acting was exceptional. The theatre - studio 54, is an iconic heritage building creates a great atmosphere. Comfortable but not large seats, minimal leg or aisle room.
This was a fascinating visit. From the history, to the beautiful interiors and the knowledgeable docent. Having a guide enriched the experience so much.
So much history here, if the walls could speak!! Lots to see and read, you can spend a few hours here easily. Easy ferry trip between the city and the Lady.
Great rotating exhibits and a new permanent display on the Presidents. There is a lot to see but this museum is next door to the Museum of Natural History and Central Park so it is often overlooked. Great for research and a good store.
This was my first time here. I would walk by occasionally and recently decided to go. Focused primarily on art/artist from smaller Asian countries like Tibet and the Himalayas it is 6 floors covering periods from BCE to 2023. Very interactive it is a must visit for anyone interested in art from those regions. The last open day to the public is October 2024, so hurry, You need about 2 hours to really see everything and they are open til 10pm every friday
Fun place to spend an hour. It was the perfect place for to visit with my teenage sun who loves puzzles and illusions. Small space but it wasn't crowded, the staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our time there.
the building (completed in 1907) is absolutely gorgeous! I wish I would have read about it prior to visiting. the exhibits were beautifully displayed with just enough information so as to not be overwhelming. we didn't read everything and I think we might have even missed so things but we enjoyed our time here. Since it is free it's certainly worth a pop in if you're in the area.
