What travellers are saying
- JP485 contributionsA fantastic couples experience!!!
We chose the love connection 90 which included a 90 min massage followed by the baths.
Our lyft took us to the completely wrong hotel and so we were 30mins late and understood that our massage would probably be cut short but the team accommodated us no issues at all and despite coming in flustered left completely relaxed. All the staff were professional and amazing to deal with from the front desk, booking team, through to the ushers, attendants and masseurs.
As you can imagine it's a very controlled process with timing to achieve a personal and tranquil experience so I can understand some reviews where it's not as simple to reschedule on the day etc. The booking process is thorough, the team even gave us suggestions on where to stay nearby as we were visiting from Australia and there is even an online checkin process.
From the moment you walk in the smells and sounds are just pure relaxation, the restrooms are immaculate with a personal attendant and locker area, luxurious L'Occitane amenities, they provide you with gowns, towels, booties and give you a tour of the baths. They even dry your swim clothes and give them to you in a zip lock bag at the end!
Baths: warm water, hot water, 2 x cold water plunge pools, 1 x large jacuzzi, steam room, salted float pool, heated marble rest area with Iced water and peppermint tea
Massage: honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had, subtle touches from the type of towels, under calf support, heated neck towels, hot stones - unbelievable.

- David_MTL_514Montreal, Canada253 contributionsI went to the one on 10 Bowery street. So it's a no frills type of environment, it's dark, it's not exactly a 'zen' place as people are coming and going, walls are not insulated etc but! my god the ladies there know how to mince your body. I personally prefer a bit more of a sports/deep tissue massage over a regular swedish massage.
I do think the lady I had had a really good understsanding of the human anatomy, she knews exactly where and how hard to press with her elbows. I absolutely loved it. Also unlike other places she wasn't shy to dig her elbow in my butt to loosen up the knots, really amazing (yes there's no hanky panky)Written 20 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Note that I came here on a Thursday afternoon when it is "Men Only"
When you first walk in you may be a bit shocked by how old this place looks, but don't let that turn you away. After paying the entrance fee, you will walk past a curtin, grab a towel and "slippers" and head right into the men's locker room.
The lockerroom room is kinda old school. There are no showers, but there are lounge beds which were all taken when I first walked in. After undressing and wrapping yourself in a towel, you will walk through the locker room and head downstairs.
Once downstairs, some people may begin to get a bit overwhelmed. During men's only time, nudity is the norm. While not required, if you are dressed you WILL feel like an outcast.
There are several steam rooms, and even an ice cold pool to use to get an instant relief from the hot saunas. My favorite room is the "rock room" which is the hottest but offers a fountain to get a quick cool off before going back at it.
Every one was very nice, and kept to them selves. Keep in mind that some people will stare, but that is to be expected. Also, there are security cameras so if being in the buss and being on their security cameras bother you, then this place is not for you.Written 3 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The studio is stunning, with a bright yellow and gold room that exudes positive energy from every corner, making me feel comfortable the moment I walked in. The staff and mentors were some of the most wonderful people I've ever met—kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable.
During my two weeks there, we participated in public classes, which was an exciting opportunity. The room was electrified with energy whenever Sir Dharma Mitra taught. His spiritual lectures were engaging and insightful, reflecting his deep connection to his practice and years of learning. He communicates with a personable style and a delightful sense of humor, reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously. Remarkably, he often answered our questions intuitively, as if he could sense what we needed to know.
The experience was so powerful that it was difficult to return to everyday life. I cannot wait to return to the studio and immerse myself in its spiritual atmosphere again. I also hope to continue my learning and pursue a 500-hour teacher training in the future. The people and the experience were truly remarkable, and words cannot fully capture the essence of it.Written 31 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Chloe BSydney, Australia2 contributionsToday I walked into Joanna Vargas for the first time, as I am from Australia and have heard incredible things about this renowned salon and WOW! I was blown away. The facilities are beautiful and I was greeted nicely by the front desk staff. I went in for the famous Triple crown facial with master esthetician Anastasia and it was amazing. Anastasia was so knowledgeable and passionate and made sure I knew the benefits of everything she was doing whilst also letting me relax and take a little nap. I am OBSESSED with the microcurrent part of the facial and saw results right away. I left the facial feeling relaxed, refreshed and my skin felt hydrated and plump. Couldn’t recommend this facial and the Joanna Vargas salon anymore! 5/5 service and results. I already booked into my follow up treatment to do the same again in 6 weeks as I was told several treatments will only help improve results and keep my skin looking youthful and tight! Can’t wait to be back! Thanks to the incredible Anastasia and the team at JV!!

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - FunkycoldmedstravelLa Crescenta, CA4 contributionsWhile visiting from LA, we scheduled massages at ZZ Spa as part of a Christmas gift for ourselves and the kids. The experience was wonderful! Despite a scheduling conflict, the staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to enjoy three massages and a facial. The kids absolutely loved it—my daughter was especially thrilled with Zara as her masseuse and didn’t want the session to end. My facial with Kenzie was fantastic as well. Though it’s not a full-service spa with showers and other amenities, the quality of the treatments and the attentive service made it a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a family-friendly relaxation experience, we highly recommend it!Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary JPoughkeepsie, NY422 contributionsCame with my daughter for the aromatherapy Swedish 1 hour massage. Nice environment, attentive staff provide you with a robe and slippers and infused water and hot tea for before and after time in the waiting area. Masseuse was firm in pressure, checked before to ensure it was ok, then didn't bother me with any small talk. I am feeling it today! Like the lemongrass oil. Took nearly an hour afterwards just to relax while having a cup of tea. Quiet and restful space.Written 26 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
