A really great market of restaurants and shops. You could easily be here for hours sampling different meals as well as working your way round the shops. Worth a visit but be mindful that it is popular and busy. We had the best lobster roll!

Fantastic place - so many vendors to choose from. All of excellent quality. It can be pricey but one is at Grand Central - to be expected. Yummy cookies at Bien Cuit.

If you are staying in or around Union Square, this is a great market to experience! There are several vendors selling a variety of foods, from pastries, eggs, meat, vegetables, and more specialty items, such as honey. The quality of the stuff there is very good, although some of the prices are on the high side. I have been visiting this market off and on for a while, and I have really enjoyed it...

We visited NYC and DC last year and we were fascinated. So we decided to return to NYC again.
We stayed in the same hotel on 44th west and 6 th avenue. At 2 minutes walk there is a supermarket and the Bryant Park.
In the park there are evefy day activities organised.
Movie in the park, free group yoga sessions, a jazz concert, a weekly bingo. Circus school for everyone ....
People gather in the park, use the free tables and chairs and bring their own food and eat and drink it with friends and familiy.

Most tourist guides recommend to buy a hop on hop off ticket for a day or half a day. But that is rather expensive.
I woul recommend to buy a 7 day metro card for 35 USD per person and use the public busses. And see NYC above metro level.
The busses are easy to use and you can go from N to S on one single line.
Or change whenever you see something interresting.

We visited China town and were looking for a terrace in the street.
    But there are no terraces.
Probably because of taxes. Every body is sitting on the ground or on window sills.

A trip we recommend is taking the bus to the free Staten Island ferry and enjoy the short ferry trip up and down.

Last year we dined in a German beergarten at 500 meter from our hotel. You can find it easy on google.
German schnitzels, fries an a big beer. Deliceous.
We avoided McDonalds and Shack and shake because of the fast food.

We rather walked to rhe China deli next to our hotel on 6th Av and chose from a warm buffet whatever looked good.
Price 25 USD per Kilo or 2 LBS..
But you only pay what you put in your box.
Same with the supermarket Whoolfood oppositeBryant park.

Tourisr guides speak obout tips for whatever.
We gave now and then tips (5USD for houekeeping per day.
The women were very happy with this and gave us a super service.
We give the 5 USD from the first day until the last day.

Last year I had a 1000 USD budget for 20 days USA and I came home with almost all the money.

We went to the Chelsea Flee Market but the prices are too high and the products are not so iterresting.

But I do recommend the High Line walk and a visit to Chvelsea Market food courts.

    Taxi at JFK.
Use only the yellow cabs. They have fixed prices.
We came out of JFK an were intercepted by a man who brought us to a big suburbqn. I asked for the price and he said it's by meter. But once we left there was ni meter and no taxi licence.
At arrival in Manhattan the driver charged ud 340 USD.
I said I would not pay andI I showed him 150 dillar.
This or you call the police I said.
    And finally
    he agrezd on 170.

The yellow cab would be 85 USD plus tip.
We would like to go back but we wait for the presidential elections before we decide.

Finally. The people are very friendly and if the see you are looking for something they will ask if you need assistance.

Our bodies were craving something healthy. Peruvian food at Don Ceviche (Essex Market) to the rescue!

My husband ordered their power bowl with rotisserie chicken while I ordered one of their budget meals.

We loved the variety of options at this market. It is also so cool to know that this is the oldest market in NYC! Talk about historic.

I could not have thought of a more fitting title!! I happen to enjoy Italy and pizza and cannolis and mob movies!! It is all very fancy but I have no money to be going to Italy!! I went to this market today because I wanted to look at it!! It had a ton of stores but I didn’t buy anything!! It also had some interesting novelty pictures which I will add to my collection of weird things I’ve seen!! The stores had pastas and sauce and cannolis and pizza but there was no mobsters which was good for me!!

The Fulton Street fish market has been around for decades and has been featured in many movies over the years. Interesting to visit.

Even if you are not buying fun to wander around.

There are many many good options and drinks at the canal street market in New York. Everything was Asian and I loved it all.

This is a small outdoor market (it might take you ten minutes to walk through it) full of African clothes, jewelry and other items. A very interesting place and not too expensive.

Fun to see what a market is like in NYC. There were many booths by artists/creatives that were selling their own stuff, but more that were just re-selling used items. As a visitor to NYC the resale items seemed very overpriced. We did enjoy the handmade items though. Also bought some food which we enjoyed.

A choice of restaurants serving steaks, pizzas, shakes, rolls, and international food. You choose as per your taste to order, self serve yourself, and hang around the greenery and sit on park seats to enjoy your food. It is a collection of Quick Service restaurants for awesome street food.

Maybe due to the closing of the Hell's Kitchen Flea and the Garage Flea, this 26th Street Flea has attracted higher quality vendors. More old jewelry (both flea and precious) offered. Generally friendly vendors who will negotiate a little on price. This is in a mid-block parking lot with no food or comfort facilities. Worth a visit and conveniently located. With a little luck, there will not be too much traffic in the area.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleased with the variety and quality of the vendors. We picked up some really nice art work of local scenes throughout New York, some beautiful earrings and a nice charm. This is tacked on to the “back” of Chelsea Market. Worth a visit!

First, the weather is super, second, the location! Right by East River, Third, nice neighborhood in Brooklyn ( East River Park). All that added up to be a great day for us. We tried quite few good, overall pretty good! It was a fun day with kids. One suggestion, better go with 4 or more people so that you can share food. Otherwise, one order from a vendor will fill u up already, lol.
