We learned more from him in 5 minutes than the other guides around the island. He very thoroughly explained the rich history and gave us tips and pointers for when we come back. - Skye R1 contributionDespite the choppy seas and the fear of falling off to the point of almost turning back to base in the first minute, Ryan helped me feel a lot more comfortable by giving great tips and encouragement. The key is definitely speed and holding on tight (and a prayer or two to get you through). Despite the scary start, the ride became much more enjoyable when we reached calmer waters, and I even relaxed enough to learn a cool trick he showed us, take a few pictures for the memories, learn some facts about turtles and even laugh at a few of his jokes.
Meanwhile, my dad absolutely loved every second of it start to finish which, with it being his first time and a special treat for him, was the main thing!
And though I slowed us down to start, Ryan ensured we got the full tour experience for which we are very grateful!! The groups were very small, and the guide was really great. We had a short training film and discussion before venturing into the sea. We interacted with the fish and other sea creatures. We feed the fish and some of them were trained to be touched. We also purchased the video which was a little pricey. It was just like my certification class and I felt very safe.
