Take a bike or stroll along Madrid Rio, a beautiful park along the river, and enjoy the views, the quirky kids' playgrounds, the river, bridges, nature, people watching.
You'll get to explore some of the old bridges along the way, passing rose gardens, the steel Arganzuela footbridge, skate park, lots of grassy areas to have a picnic or bit of a tanning session.

It's a great park with many pretty high, but small hills (I think they made them extra for the view) and a nice walk with a view of the city skyline.
Fantastic view on Madrid from this friendly park

Especially worth the visit during the blooming of the almond trees (there is a field full of them) and the lilac season (all around the perimeter of the park).
This park is free entrance, if you want to see the almond blossoms you need to be on time like 2nd week of march:)

We were heading to the fantastic Ermita De La San Antonio De La Florida ( Royal Chapel Of St Anthony Of La Florida ) and we passed this beautiful park and in particular this nice garden area.
My wife and I came upon this place whilst walking through the park.

As we were in Madrid for 10 days we spent a lovely half day in this park relaxing from some of the busier sightseeing activities & we loved it.
It's a very beautiful park and you have a fantastic view over the west part of Madrid, Casa de Campo, the Royal Palace and of course, Templo de Debod.

What a fantastic Palace that was started by Philip 2nd and the Bourbons, who planned the city, parks and gardens which turned the area into a Royal Site for holding court in spring every year until 1890.

The Park is a wonderfully peaceful area with gorgeous trees and a lovely geometric layout around a reflection pond.
This is my favourite park or garden in Madrid because of the quiet, the benches and the lovely pine trees.

Situated behind Palacio Real the gardens became a hunting park before eventually being landscaped in a style after the English gardens of the 19th century.
Maybe a part of the Royal park

The Jardin del Principe is a very large park and it is very enjoyable to walk there, with plenty of peace and quiet.
There is a second, smaller "house" that a prince had built in this location, and you pay 5 euros for admission (I didn't visit the interior, just walked around as I passed through the park).

This is a very big park with a lot of nice animals, but take into consideration that if you travel with small kids, use good shoes in terms of all the walking.
