Best natural history museum in the nation. The dinosaur collection is out of those world, likely best on the planet.

My boyfriend and I had the ability to visit the space center while in Houston for the weekend. We bought tickets online the day before (plenty of availability) and parking and entering was very easy with the mobile tickets.

In my mind, the space center is broken out into 3 “sections” the inside of the main building, the external yard next to the main building, and the tram tours. The inside of the building contains many exhibits, including one about Mars, the international space station, and the starship gallery. All of them are worth checking out, but the starship gallery one was my favorite. I was impressed at the number of items that had that were real, and actually used in space, it was really cool!

The outside contains a mocked-up shuttle, an actual shuttle carrier, and a Space X rocket. We did not have time to visit the outside during our visit.

There were three different tram tours offered during out visit. The white tram tour takes you to the actual apollo mission control center where you watch a short film and see what the room looked like during the lunar landing, which was really awesome. The blue tour takes you to the astronaut training facility where you can look down on the entire facility via a catwalk. On the way back, they drop you off at the Saturn 5 building for you to explore on your own pace, and take a shuttle back when you are ready. The red tour is just a shuttle to the Saturn V building. We took both the blue and the white tour which was a highlight of our trip, actually getting to see these places was amazing!

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and everything actually seemed to be well organized. The app made booking tram tours and getting around very easy. When visiting, please listen and be respectful, so many people not following basic instructions was disheartening, especially when visiting the Apollo Mission Control Center, the entire area is a national historic site and is fragile. Please be respectful so people can continue visiting this site.

We spent 5 hours there and were able to see all the inside exhibits and do both tram rides, but after that we ran out of time. We also didn’t take time to eat while visiting. I would recommend an entire day here if you want to see everything and not feel rushed. Each tram tour (blue and while) are 1 hour long.

While the zoo is well done, I was surprised that a city the size of Houston didn’t have a larger zoo. Also, while most parks like to advertise their contributions to breeding programs, I don’t recall seeing anything like that mentioned here. I’d call this a fine destination for a local family/grandkids etc, but not so much for out of town visitors.

So nice to go to a mall that wasn't full of empty store fronts. We enjoyed both the shopping and dining experiences - the variety of both was excellent. We got lost a couple of times and would have appreciated more guides/maps/info services but spent almost a full afternoon there.

I love going to Minute Maid to see a baseball game! As I write this, The Astros are headed to the World Series. Minute Maid has very nice facilities and good choices for food too.

We have gone to most of the museums in this area when we have time to kill between appointments. We have done the Natural History Museum twice.

A very unique experience. Learned a lot and surprisingly took longer than I thought I needed. Exhibits ranged from caskets, hearses, embalming, and cremation. I also liked the presidential funeral section and the "Thanks for the Memories" exhibit. Go if you have a couple of hours to kill and have been to all the parks and other museums in Houston.

I love the Music Box Theater, never miss the next show. The performances are wonderful, the band is awesome. We all laugh throughout the whole show and you just forget any stress you might have because the group presents the shows with so much humor! Talk about a "feel great"!

The kids favorite part of the museum was weirdly the HEB grocery store, lol. We had to drag them out of there. They also loved the Challenge Course, Power Play and outside area. We went on a weekday afternoon and it was semi crowded. Can't even imagine going there on a weekend.

I only visited the butterfly center at the HMNS. I enjoyed it! It was a beautiful setting and very peaceful. the waterfall was a really nice feature. It was an educational experience with lots of great information. The kids seemed to love seeing all the butterflies. There are not so many in there that they land on you a lot like some other Butterfly exhibits I have been to.

it was a great way to spend an hour or so.

    NOTE FOR THE BUTTERFLY CENTER:
There was one attendant I saw touching the butterflies and getting them to move and fly. There seemed to be no compelling reason to touch them other than to 'play' with them. The staff uniforms are pretty non-descript so I didn't realize they were an employee. I told her, " I don't think you are meant to be touching the butterflies," she waved her radio at me to indicate she worked there. She told me, "we just tell the kids that,". I only bring this up as it sets an example for other visitors and kids that see that and think it's OK to do the same. If you don't want people to walk around touching the butterflies, the staff probably should leave them alone too.

First time I came on my own and it was closed for some reason so second time with the family we entered.

We had to go through security metal detectors and bags inspected. No guns, pepper spray allowed inside.

Admission was reasonable and children 18 or younger were free. Parking was $8.

The free guided tour was already full so we decided to wander around on our own. There was the main Holocaust section, an outdoor memorial, Family Memorial Room and two special exhibits on Human Rights and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG).

I was admired RBG and they did a great overview of her life and accomplishments.

No photos were allowed in the permanent Holocaust gallery. Exhibits, photos and artifacts from survivors or their families that came to Houston were informative and a lot of reading. A rail car (similar vintage to ones used to take people to the camps) and even a boat (used in rescues) were installed inside the museum.

One unique exhibit was a virtual conversation with a Holocaust survivor.

A worthwhile museum to visit in Houston.

I was our first time in Dallas, we truly enjoyed the Livestock and the rodeo shows. We attended competitions on tie down roping, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, also female tie down roping. A must see.

The guided house tour by Lisa was great, got to visit multiple rooms and see antique furnishings and artwork. The rooms were set up as they had been used by Ima Hogg over the years. Learned some new things that I hadn’t seen in other home tours.

Gardens were nice, the azaleas weren’t blooming as they bloomed earlier in the year but can imagine how beautiful they would be. It made for a nice stroll viewing some of the statues and fountains.
