Portland has been known as a great cycling city and the Springwater Corridor is a great example. The north end is right at the end of the City Front trail and it follows an old railroad right of way for about 5 miles, flat but occasionally windy. It then climbs a short but fairly steep pitch into a quite neighborhood that is well marked with only one turn to get you on the long section which goes east along another train or trolley right of way. It then goes on for 15-20 miles (I haven't ridden it all yet). The pavement is generally good with a few rough places. Weekends are busy with walkers, runners, skaters, etc. but most are very polite and I have had no problems.

I loved this park. I am a maywood park native and just got a new mountain bike. There are 5 trails to go on, including an XPERT ONLY jump line. There are skill places to practice landing jumps. there is even a bathroom! My only complaint is that there is no way to access it besides bike or walk. And they sometimes forget to lock it so there are sometimes homeless people there. Would strongly recommend!

What a surprise the review said it was great and I thought this was an activity but it is looking at a mind blowing assortment of mountain biker and equipment. Interesting yes, but not as interesting as riding one. Go and drool over the bikes and learn stuff from the friendly knowledgeable staff.
