- lopperoregon99 contributionsDaughter and I greatly enjoyed a holiday concert at this hall. I’ve lived here 20 years and had never been. It is beautiful. The staff was fabulous throughout and it was nice to experience the beautiful old atmosphere I’d not seen since some places in other cities. I didnt know this gem right here in Portland! A visitor tip, some of the aisle seats have small tables next to where you can set a beverage. It was a surprise bonus with our seat selection, and I gladly shared the little table space with the woman behind me. She said, wow I didnt know what the images meant on the seating chart, that it was a table! Me, I didn’t either, and you are welcome to set your drink here too! Beautiful place, with so much nostalgia. Daughter and I glad we dressed for the occasion. A trip back in time to before we were born!Written 14 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PH2003Denver, CO382 contributionsVisiting the Moda Center from a state that serves multiple pro teams, this was a different experience. The arena definitely feels older, but it’s interesting to have it dedicated purely to one pro team. The seats, the decor, the concourse is all Trail Blazers colors and theme. At my home arena in Denver, the arena is an even mix of basketball and hockey so you never have one pure theme. It was kinda nice!
The arena itself was okay. I wish the upper level had more food and merch options, but it was okay. It’s easy to maneuver around.
All I really have to say is I’m glad we took an Uber and didn’t drive the rental car. There is parking, but it’s all ticketed and there isn’t that much garage space. People were selling parking in the area for like $60. It’s better to Uber and just find a local business to Uber back from. Our driver even told us that was best because it’s hard to pick up at the arena itself.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The coliseum is aged and not up to the level of the super modern Moda center next door. But you know what? We had a blast. The tickets are cheap and the skating was professional. The building fits for its purpose. It is in a safe area and the staff is super friendly. If you are looking for 'plush' ... don’t go.
Ps. The Max line takes you right to the front door of the whole complexWritten 29 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is uniformed security at the door, and good rockin' inside. Holds about 300 people, most of whom are standing. Some break out in dancing in front of the little bar. I believe there is a small balcony. Everyone was friendly. The band , Jenny and the Mexicats, blew the place away. Good stage lighting, grungy bathrooms, fairly expensive booze, ... you know the drill.Written 29 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carmenstlouis1 contributionLast night's concert, Boulager, Mendelssohn, Schumann was the best I've heard since I left Chicago. The young, new German conductor, Clemens Schuldt, literally WOWed the audience and apparently won over the orchestra whose members smiled throughout the entire performance, or just about. They never played so well. It was magical.
I hope the Board and orchestra will seriously consider hiring him on a permanent basis.

So I went early to check the place out.
The information I dug up indicated that it was open from 4PM till 2:30AM. And that it was a punk themed night spot.
I walked in and found the place reminded me of a dive bar with a large room for concerts. The door you enter into is the lounge. They serve food and drink. They have a heated outdoor patio around back which I visited frequently with Nik Turner throughout the night. No dressing room for the bands... so we went to the patio and chatted with his fans. Being the weekend before Halloween made this an interesting and fun time. Like seeing the dame in the Goats head outfit. I nudged Nik and said "Hey, look... there's a goat or a buffalo over there! Shouldn't that be mounted up on the wall?" We ran into here out on the patio and posed with her when asked if she could have a photo with Nik.
Before Nik Turner's Hawkwind arrived I tried out the food and drink. Had a grilled cheese sandwich and a Rainer Beer. I was surprised that they had some beer for $2 on the menu. GREAT!
The place was pretty packed during the show. Had a great time.Written 6 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
