I went with friends to an ikebana luncheon. We had a lovely buffet of salmon, chicken stir fry, several salads, fruit, and cookies. Then we watched an Ikebana demonstration with bamboo used as containers and material. Very good food and attentive servers. Very much attention to cleanliness.

The puzzles in both Casino Heist and Kingdom of Night rooms were very tactile and made logical sense. It was easy to become immersed in the theme of each room. I love that they don’t place you with other people and the room is still a good price. My husband and I like to do escape rooms without any other people and most companies make you buy all (usually 8) spots to do this, but not this one! I loved that both rooms were back to the basics of escape rooms where it was all about solving the puzzles and moving to the next step without any unnecessary technology. I also truly appreciated that the Game Masters only gave hints when we requested them. Kingdom of Night was a bit more difficult, but we were still able to escape with just the two of us. I have escaped from just over 30 rooms and both of these are in my top 5 favorites. I highly recommend either room.

We chose The Comedy Bar because of the price, to be honest. Other more notable comedy houses in Chicago (Second City, Laugh Factory, etc.) cost 2-3x more than here, but they also provide a higher level of talent and value.

Located directly next to Gino's East pizzeria, the door is easy to miss. Go upstairs where the entire spread opens up. The staff were friendly enough and very helpful, seating is where they place you. If you choose to order food, much of it comes from Gino's next door, which is probably marked up. you would be better off just eating before you go to the show. Mixed drinks were okay, not top tier, but they didn't suck either.

The comedians were fine. Some have experience on late night cable or variety shows, others seemed more local. For example, the headliner was "as seen 3X on Conan!". He was good, but getting to him was a mixed bag.

With all of this said - if you're looking to spend your weekend wad on one comedy show, go to Second City. But if you're looking for a fun time at a reasonable price, which leaves extra to go somewhere else afterwards, then The Comedy Bar is a great choice!

My friend heard about smash rooms and decided that’s what she wanted to do for her birthday, so a group of 4 of us made reservations and went. We walked from Olgilvie train station—it took about 25-ish minutes and was not a bad walk. We found the place easily, and check in was a breeze. We booked the room for 30 min. If it had been any shorter, not all of us would have gotten a turn. Time starts at your reserved time, but you have to go over rules, pick out what you want to smash, and get their required safety gear on. 2 members of our group got a bit claustrophobic being in a helmet and didn’t smash for an entire song. Even so, we all still had fun and it was a cool experience!
