McKellin's is a typical Chicago neighborhood bar ... in the middle of a primarily Jewish Orthodox neighborhood where few in that community go into bars. Not to worry, though, there are enough of us Irish around to balance it out! During the week this is a very quite place, uncomfortably so for me. However, on 'game days' such as weekends, or nights when the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team is playing ... it becomes lively. During Fall football season there are weekend BBQ's. As I said, it's a typical Chicago corner bar. Nothing special. Not bad. If you are thirsty for a drink and aren't looking for much conversation ... this can be the place for you.
