There are short easy walking trails to get to several overlooks of the Avista dam, falls and gorge. There is a playground for the younger set along with convenient restrooms. There was abundant wildlife around even though it is so close to town and the highway. This park seems to be where people launch their boats to access the lake. I took a trail, but I stopped where there was a rock climb down to a canyon. I was not prepared for this. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and attentive. Have noticed vehicles parked on the side of the road for several days.
