I went with the inlaws to California for the week and we came to Morro Bay mainly to go on the whale watching cruise. The large rock (long extinct volcano), is hard to miss even in the fog. While we didn't get to see too much of it at first because of the fog, when we came back it cleared up. Definitely a cool thing to see and plenty of birds hanging around it.

A friend rent a group camp site for a birthday party. The group site is up above the regular camp site which gives more privacy. The is bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, water and fire ring. There is no electric. Has good amount of trees for shade. Can get a little breezy.

Went as a family with two parents, three kids (ages 10, 8, and 4), and two 73-year-old grandparents. It was such a great experience. Definitely more than I expected. Three dollar entry is very reasonable, and we were surprised to learn that our fourth grade child (download their CA Adventure Pass) got us all in for free! Docents were lovely, search and find activity booklet for the kids was helpful for them to connect with the information in the museum. We also did the virtual reality, headset activity and learned about elephant seals inSan Simeon. A great two hour stop. Places to picnic right outside and easy parking and bathrooms.

The trail/boardwalk is a bit hard to find, but easiest is to park near the Bayside Cafe and walk down to the trail head. Follow the dirt trail loop (.7 ml) and it becomes a wonderful wooden boardwalk with great views of the estuary. Bring binoculars to see wonderful birdlife. I saw about 30 white herons standing out in the bay. Very peaceful. The Museum of Natural History is worth a visit, and they have a nice gift shop.

Beautiful. We went on a Tuesday morning early, after visiting Morro Rock (which by the way is a must see!) and there were only a handful of other people there. There were a ton of tide pools and rocks coming out of the ocean, it was so fun exploring and taking photos.

What a treat ! Loved our early evening cinema experience with buttery popcorn. Sat in comfort in this beautiful, clean , quaint auditorium that was air conditioned ( bring a cardigan/ jumper if you feel a chill easily) . It was delightful to go to a cinema were only one film was showing - no flash gimmicks or overly expensive treats. Staff were lovely and gave us a taster of root beer which was new to us before we selected our drinks . Seats recline . Could sit anywhere . Plenty of seats and leg room . Loved the old style set up . THANKYOU - an experience to add to our Californian road trip experience.

David J Rogers is Probably the best artist I have seen over the years, Beautiful spacious gallery with a wide variety of options and a TON of awesome gifts for friends or family. Not only do they have an amazing artist but also the gallery is a very welcoming environment with personable people working there that make you feel at home when browsing for something special. I would recommend this gallery to anyone looking to find a perfect gift or special something to help your house become a home!

Looks lie the colony got displaced by the recent storms - - only say 3 nests in the trees and they were not occupied - some of the trees in the area were down

We loved walking the boardwalk and the wildlife so close - sea lions, pelicans, sea otters, fish, birds. it is fantastic.
we loved watching the sea otters at T pier. the mother otters cleaning the babies, the babies making their squealing sound.

We did the boardwalk a few times as there was always something to see and the information panels were great to read

The Avalon is in front of this museum. The Avalon was a Mystic-class deep-submergence rescue vehicle rated to dive up to 5000 feet to rescue submarine crews trapped deep under the sea. Really something to see!
