A great place to view meso american art and relics.Currently, they have some Egyptian artifacts on loan from LA county. Great way to get up close to some beautiful ancient art without the crowds of a bigger museum. The place is small, but worth a visit. They also have a some current artists and a display of photos from the Chicano movement/demonstrations from the 60's. You will not need a lot of time to view the collection. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. I enjoyed my visit.

Located in Garvey Ranch Park, the MP Historical Museum & Observatory are local gems. Although hours are limited, there is a lot to be learned about the history of this small multicultural city. Please check the city website for hours of both the museum and adjacent observatory which are mainly run by volunteers.

This is a park that extends eastward from Garfield Avenue to Fulton Avenue in Monterey Park in the Repetto Hills. The park essentially is below the Southern California Edison power transmission lines that run to the SCE substation to the west. There is a hiking trail that runs along the length of the park. There is some elevation gain, but the slope is not too severe. The trail is not paved, but is compacted soil that is very easy to traverse if not wet. The park does have homes on either side of it, but is a nice half-mile hike one way or one mile round trip. It is a nice green space that is not spoiled with development within its boundaries, although there is a children's play area on the westernmost parcel of the park near Garfield Avenue.

If there is plenty of time, can just drop by to see the memorial - a mixture of American and Chinese World War II.

The facility is new(1yr) and has a good driving range which feeds balls from under the mats. You buy a range card and may hit as many or as few balls as you like.

I've driven by this curious looking building several times before taking the plunge. I wasn't disappointed. The bar is friendly, with bartenders Stephen and Jeff introducing.themselves to newcomers, and providing.good, quick service. Obviously a REAL.locals spot, I had no problem.engaging in conversation with those around me. Enjoyed the mix of 80's lively dance music. The entree menu is limited - STEAK. That's your choice - STEAK. The freshly prepared bar appetizers are reasonably priced and what you'd expect....jalepeno poppers, chicken tenders, pizza, etc...portions more than ample for sharing. (I didn't have a steak, so I cannot speak to the quality of the meat.). I'll return when I'm the mood for a 12os strip or looking for a fun post-work watering hole. Try it - you won't be disappointed.
