Amazing time tunnel, this is the feeling I got passing through this main entrance to reach Al Khazneh of the magnificent Nabataean Petra, the walk is thrilling and never experienced before.

Cute little trip to see the ruins - much quieter than Petra with less hassle.

    Free to enter.

Worth a visit but only for 1-2hrs max.

We hiked this on day 2 in Petra. It is a beautiful view from the top. We hiked the back way down. I highly recommend this trail. Do it in the morning and you will have the view all to yourself.

I admire the royal tombs in Petra - carved huge buildings in the rocks, resistant to weather and wind. The beauty of the stone is even better seen inside the royal tomb. Surprising is the perfect acoustics inside.

We were in two minds whether to go. Our guest house host suggested we didn’t bother. We were glad we did though as the scattered candles along the siq and in front of the Treasury were enchanting. The musical show was simple and as long as you don’t expect too much you won’t be overly disappointed. Some people tended to walk along the siq with their phone torches on which detracted from the atmosphere a little and was a bit irritating as was nicer to see it lit by candles only. At 17JD per person, the cost is more than it’s worth but if you have travelled a distance to see Petra it’s probably worth it.

A great way to start ur Petra journey on the leisurely walk down, so take all the pics doing so. As after walking for >7 hrs and 12 miles all u wanna do is get back to the shower unless u get a donkey or buggy back up

Not as intrically carved but non the less still impressive

On another note. I met with a local taxi driver who hands down beats other quotes, and also has contacts in Amman who beat 1 hostel, 1 hotel an an über driver. Ask for Omar at the JETT bus station or contact me for further details at Mattalansharp@gmail.com. His number is

Street of Facades is so named because of the carved premises of the ancient Nabataeans, who created Petra. I admire their struggle to create a city among the rocks and for it to have been inhabited for centuries!

This was a highlight of our trip to Jordan. The chef was so friendly and the cooking class was really enjoyable. We made a wide range of traditional Jordanian dishes. Make sure you are hungry before going - the amount of food was huge! The chef explained what went into the dishes and also helped with our technique. The rest of the staff there were also lovely. You get to take home a recipe book so you can continue cooking at home. We absolutely loved our evening here!

The combination of colours in the rock facade makes this a very nice place to visit. It's a short way up from the main road.

One of the many interesting sights you can see whilst visiting the Petra site. We viewed from above while on a tour and were told it was built by the Nabataeans more than 2000 years ago. An impressive structure bearing in mind it was chiselled out of stone!
