Don't be tempted to save a day and do the two day tour. Don't go with a different tour operator. Don't miss out. This three day tour is simply outstanding.

Ali was out guide and could not have been more caring, knowledgeable and professional. He clearly loves his country and his people, and he was so helpful in guiding us through how to be good guests and explaining the history and culture. Each day was varied with the first and the last having significant amounts of driving but broken up with stops and visiting attractions. The travel went by quickly and the coach was comfy.

The middle day was the clear highlight with a spectacular full day in Petra. Come ready to walk and hike if you want to make the most of it but it is an experience you will never forget.

I thought it might be helpful to capture a few things I wish I had known before I left.

    - You don't need foreign currency before you leave. The Israeli exit fee (184ILS I think) can be paid on card and there is a cash machine and currency exchange at the Jordanian border. To pick up Dinar.

    - I was a solo traveler and I took out 70 Jordanian Dollars for drinks, tips and one small gift purchase. You can easily spend more and some managed with less but it felt about right. No matter how much water you take to Petra you will inevitably need to buy some liquid during the day if it's hot. You will also want to be able to tip generously throughout and your guide will advise what is appropriate.

    - The accommodation at the Bedouin Camp is out of this world. I think it changes in winter but we stayed in the 7 Wonders Bedouin Camp with warm showers, comfy beds, and incredible hosts. Some in our group had upgraded to luxury tents so contact Abraham Tours if you're interested in that. They had en suite facilities and viewing windows I think.

    - Every meal was a buffet so there was always choice but honestly, every meal was outstanding.

    - The borders take a bit of time to navigate but you'll get there. When you check in your bags you get given a sticker - hold on to it because you'll need it to get your bag back.

    - We were back in Jerusalem at 8pm on our return. It sounds as though this varies a lot depending on the Israeli border but we sailed through.

I hope this is helpful. Overall, it is the trip of a lifetime and not to be missed. I thought it represented incredible value for money.

Big thanks to the wonderful Ali!

Booked this tour through Tripadvisor and quickly received a confirmation email and voucher. Driver was not at the hotel at pickup time - however, I was able to easily contact them via phone and whatsapp using afterhours number. Driver was waiting at a different hotel with the same name and showed up within five minutes of me calling - had the best of intentions. I did this trip solo and the vehicle was a 4 door sedan - comfortable with AC. Driver was extremely friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable - he makes these trips almost daily.

Picked up at hotel in Amman and took about 3 hours to get to Petra on the Desert Hwy with a couple stops for Turkish coffee and waters on the way. Plenty of places for trinkets and local wares as well. Very little traffic and the drive was smooth. Highway is in great shape. The places we stopped were very friendly and I had no issues shopping. Very little cell phone service between towns.

Arrived at Petra around 10:30am. Driver dropped me off and gave me a cell phone to call him when I was heading out. Quick and easy access to enter. Not a lot of people at this time, but on the way out the placed was packed. Get there early as possible for better pics without it being full of people.

You will be bombarded with locals offering you donkey and camel rides. They will tell you its included in your ticket, but they want a very handsome tip. I spent 4 hours (about 6 miles) exploring and a camel ride sounded pretty good to get out, but I wanted to push myself. Many people taking the camel ride out. A lot of soft sand, rocks, and plenty of climbing if you choose - prepare accordingly.

Plenty of locals trying to sell you things the entire way - some can be good priced, but negotiate heavily and many of their prices will drop 75%. Tons of huts selling trinkets, but you have to hike out with it. Most of the things you can find in Amman as well for similar prices. The bigger shops take credit cards - but expect higher prices (12JOD for a tuna wrap and a beer). Many items being sold are made in India and China. Plenty of locals wanting to take you to the "Indiana Jones" view for a fee, but it's easily accessible yourself - it's to your right at the treasury in the corner and a quick climb. There is a second platform with great view and pics or the main platform is 1JOD to access, but you get a free cold water or tee with it and they will take your pic on carpets they have laid out.

Plenty of places to buy cold beverages, food, and restrooms along the way as well.

    Everyone I encountered spoke English.

No service in the Siq, so call the driver at the treasury before you enter.

    Overall great trip!

Jordan Select helped us have a great time in Jordan. We had a private tour with them for Wadi Rum, Petra, Dead Sea, Mt. Nebo, Bethany, Jerrash and Amman.
Khalil, the guy who took us around was wonderful telling us so much about Jordan and ensuring our comfort at all times.

Our Tour specialist helped us plan the itinerary in detail.

Could Have have asked for more.

Our tour guide Bassil was fantastic - very knowledgeable, on time, and enthusiastic to answer any questions we had. My husband and I are in Jordan for our honeymoon, Bassil also made sure we got all the best pictures throughout the tour. All in all, an unmissable experience if you’re in Petra.

We have just returned home from our 10 day stay in Jordan and we were extremely satisfied in our 11 member group. Nice and accurate drivers, safe driving and great price. If we return, I have nothing else to think about

The prejudice that decent hotels cooperate with professionals in their field does not apply to Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla.
The hotel's motivation for choosing Go Aqaba Travel, a one-man agency that provides very poor service, is not at all clear.
We booked a full day excursion to Petra via Go Aqaba at the hotel. On the appointed day, a slobby driver arrived in a small car and we went to Petra. Before reaching the historical part of the village, the driver offered to go to a souvenir shop where you can use the toilet.
When we refused the toilet, we were told that he had no money for entrance tickets and we had to wait for Go Aqaba to transfer the money. This seemed very strange, since we paid the full cost of the tour in advance at the time of booking.
We had to kill over an hour waiting for the money, but we did our best not to buy souvenirs, depriving Go Akaba of additional income in the form of commission from purchases.
I would not recommend taking seriously any proposals from the Go Akaba company, since they have neither the experience and skills, nor the resources and means.
All of their cars are rented from third party car rental companies, the tour guides are freelancers and out of the influence of the one man show called "Go Aqaba", which guarantees you a primitive level of service for impressive prices.
You might as well rent a car, save a lot of money, and drive yourself to any corner of Jordan without imposing unnecessary Chinese handicrafts.

  • A highly recommended 2-day Petra Wadi Rum Dead sea tour - it seemed 3 days long! Our driver Khalid Jan was superbly organised and even arranged a glass-bottomed boat ride in Aqaba harbour - a wonderful addition to the tour!
The Camp at Wadi Rum was fantastic - what a view! Great food and hospitality from the crew.
We only had a few days to see Jordan as this was a business trip, but this tour was everything we could have imagined and much more. Thank you JPTT you have been wonderful to deal with.

To say this was one of the best trips of my life would be an understatement. It was an adventure from the start of the first day to the end of the last day in the best way.

I went into this trip with pretty high expectations for Jordan, (between Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea) and they were absolutely blown out of the water. The adventure version of the tour is a must in my opinion to give you the most in-depth experience of these truly incredible places.

Our tour group leader, Furat, was perfect for leading us through all the activities - high energy, friendly, and knowledgeable about Jordan's history and culture. His excitement and enthusiasm towards the places we saw and the things we did was matched only by our own, which made the whole experience that much more fun for everyone.

Jordan is a beautiful country, and I can't imagine wanting to see it any other way.

I can’t recommend Lost in Petra enough. Ahmed was so knowledgable of the area and took us a route off the beaten path to the treasury free from any tourists and really made our experience (even more) memorable. The route did take some clambering over rocks and wasn’t exactly a leisurely stroll so I would recommend wearing trainers and sensible clothing and maybe bring a dress with you to change in to (if you wanted one for the photos). He took us to such an amazing view point and took incredible photos for us - he should honestly be a professional photographer! I will certainly be recommending Ahmed to any of my friends or family who visit Petra in the future.
