Picked up at 7am (ish) from my hotel, taken to the delta area and then straight out on the canoe for a full day of animal spotting and exploring.

    Highly recommend

We were pleasingly surprised by the quality of Xaa Safari agency and the dedication of the staff. Xaa Safari is a small local agency, with very competitive prices.
We stayed in the middle of nowhere in Central Kalahari Game Reserve, with no-one around us for kilometers.
The infrastructure they set up for us was amazing: sufficiently large tent with beds and mattress, chemical toilet and shower.
We had an (excellent!) cook, two guides and a one other staff member.
The food was excellent, every day.
The game drives were disappointing as we didn't see any of the big 5, we were just very unlucky. But that is a safari: there are no guarantees.
But sitting around the fire at night, and gazing at the sky with millions of stars (as there is absolutely no light pollution), is worth the trip.

A friend and myself participated in the full day Moremi Game Drive and also a Mokoro tour. Our guide was Puso and was absolutely fantastic. I am a tour guide myself by profession and was beyond thrilled with how our two days with Zaa were handled. Puso was super friendly and so knowledgeable! We saw so many different animals. We felt safe, not rushed at all, and in extremely good hands. Special attention was given to my dietary requirement (vegetarian) and everything was very well organised. I wish we were able to spend more time with Puso. I highly recommend!

The Lodge was almost booked out entirely by our group of friends. The staff treated us like family. The Safari into Moremi and the Mokoro trip as the highlight.

We took a 2 hour trip in which we saw a lot of wildlife activity: eliphants in the river and passing through the river, crocs nearby, water monitor lizzard, lechwe, water birds, water flowers. 2 hours seems a perfect time.

I loved this activity ! Thato was my guide and I learned so much on the Batswana's culture and tradition. We went to Maun town and met different vendors. I really enjoyed the food but my highlights was weaving the basket with Magodi :)

Xaa Safaris did not come to collect us at the hotel and they did not answer the phone. They finally replied to my email over 2hrs after the scheduled pick up time saying they were not able to make it. No reason given. I don’t know if they just forgot, failed to arrange a guide or just couldn’t be bothered. Ruined our time in Maun as we were leaving the next day and were there specifically to do the Okavango Delta tour.
Do not use Xaa Safaris as they will probably cancel your tour without telling you and leave you waiting and ruin your day.

I had a nice day at the Okavangodelta!
They pick you up in the morning. Then it’s around a 1,5 hours drive which I really enjoyed you see already a lot of the nature there.
Then we went with the Mokoro which is super beautiful and we had super sweet guides (Mark, Kenny, Cecilia, Brat - not sure if I wrote the names correct ;))
After that we stopped and did around a three hours walking safari where we spotted giraffes and hippos and some other small animals (bokis, eagle,….)
Had some lunch and then went back with the mokoro!

I would definitely recommend this tour and Shipungo Safari and Tours!

See you again hopefully Mark 🤗🙏

If you want to see a different side of Botswana's landscape, this is the place to be. The Kalahari is absolutely stunning and having a good guide with you makes it even better. Not only the guide is excellent, but also the cook. After an exciting day with all kinds of animal sightings, they have a three-course meal in the evening, which I never expected to have on a camping trip. Afterwards, you sit together around the campfire and the guide tells you something about the stars. The service in general was amazing! To keep the guests warm they even provide besides blankets, hot water bottles for the game drives and for the night (It can get quite cold in the Kalahari). Highly recommended!

What an amazing experience we had with Kalahari Breeze!
This was our first time in Botswana where we did the 8 day wild camping in Okavango and Moremi followed by two days to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. In the months leading up to the trip, we were in frequent communication with the lovely Maria and Chris who listened to our interest and guided us to our perfect tour.

The first 3 days were spent in the inner Okavango Delta where transport to the campsite was by Mokoro. Gliding through the long grass whilst spotting hippos in the distance really set the standard high! Our campsite was untouched tranquility with only the animals for company, so much so we even had a family of elephants visit us one afternoon which was a real highlight. The walking tours within Okavango were a great experience having previous only done game drives in previous trips. The food was excellent throughout all cooked on an open fire!

The game/scenery in Moremi was a great contrast to the Okavango. Once again our guide was incredibly knowledgable and the camp staff raced to ensure our camp was ready for arrival.

Sleeping under the stars in the Salt pans was definitely worth the trip and added to our experience in seeing the different aspects to Botswana.

With June being the coldest month (temps dropping to 2 degrees at night) Maria and Chris really thought about all the finishing touches including hot water bottles at night!

With Botswana being one of the few places where you can in fact “wild-camp”, this trip truly felt like an authentic experience. We would love to come back again.
