In the shadow of the jealous wall at Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar is not to be beaten, anywhere in Ireland, as a venue for an outdoor Theatre Experience. The setting is perfect. Little Women by Chapterhouse Theatre Company was thoroughly enjoyable.

Having done the Dublin side of this route as we were visiting Mullingar we decided to do some of the Mullingar to athlone route.
It was a very enjoyable peaceful cycle. Route is free from rubbish there is several benches if you wanted to stop off and chill. Plus it was good to see bins on the route if needed.
The only down side on this side of the route there really is no coffee/tea stop points as there is on the Dublin side.

We visited Mollie Moo’s with children with special needs. They were so helpful and accommodating. We had lots of access to the sensory room which is a great calming space. We look forward to our next trip here with the children from our preschool.

We parked at Streamstown and cycled from there to Ballinea where the Old Rail Trail meets the Royal Canal Greenway. It was a nice smooth surface all the way. We met a lot of friendly people and had plenty of chats along the way. We are looking forward to our next outing from Moate to Streamstown. The Greenway is well signposted and parking, cafe, water fountain and toilets at Streamstown. There are a few tables along the way.

Took a walk along the lake shore and really enjoyed the walk. There is also a parking area with a great viewing platform and picnic area.

I’d never been to the dogs before but enjoyed my experience.

For just over €30 We got a meal included in that. The Food was ok but nothing special.

Someone comes to your table and your bet on the dog that you think can win. I would recommend as an evening entertainment if you have nothing to do

Very good garden centre with good selection of plants - some old specimens there could be sold cheaper. Not as expensive as Johnstown in Kildare.

Mullingar Arts Centre, Student players presents :
    Tennessee William’s
    “A Streetcar Named Desire”

    In one word “WOW” !
These young actors and actress’s fully embraced their characters.

Emily Shaw played Blanche Dubois, her southern accent and sweet southern belle charm was spot on.

Tiarnan Foy played Stanley Kowalski, his bad boy rendition of the character and his northeastern accent was perfect.

Ella McDermott played Stella Kowalski, the facial expressions and emotions of this young actress showed true for a young married woman of that time.

The entire cast was very talented , with an awesome future in the theater ahead of them .

It was a joy to see a famous Tennessee Williams play in Mullingar, Ireland.

This Centre for the Performing Arts has some very inspiring young actors and actresses performing Broadway Hits.

The play is on for 2 more nights .
September 20 and 21. Go see it!

Arrived at 5 to 10.00 barrier to car park was up so drove straight in . Mass at 10.00 am every morning for 20-30 minutes Cathedral reminds me of synagogue, mosque, and baptist church rolled into one . It is fairly modern but has mosaics placed by the same artist as Westminster Abbey in London . Very helpful parking attendant normal would get a ticket at entrance but gave us a ticket. Pay on way out ticket machine in left door besides main entrance free for 1st 20 mins 1 euro for every hour there after.
Although barrier is up 30 mins after mass finishes. Lovely welcoming staff. The plastic hawk interesting.!

Pub is nothing wild or exciting. Good music. Affordable cocktails. Have had to inform staff of drink promos on multiple occasions where they would try to charge normal price. Toilets have no locks on doors so have to be held closed by foot or bring a friend to man it for you.
