- AnthonyLuxembourg City, Luxembourg180 contributionsAlways impressive to see a geyser erupt, even with wind and rain.
Don't go after you've seen 1 eruption, stay and you can see a couple of them in 10/15 min. They change in height/strength.
You can also get closer or get a better spot as the people will usually leave after seing 1 eruption.
Unfortunately, Strokkur is not as impressive as Geysir was 10y ago.Written 28 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is not huge though, more of a nice short walk up and around it.Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdwelshNorth Canton, OH4,508 contributionsThis quaint cathedral in the tiny village of Skálholt, considered to be Iceland's first town, is a gem. Gorgeous church in a amazing setting, with a history museum in the basement is definitely worth a visit. Just reading the names and dates on the walls was fascinating, but then to read the stories of how these people moved these huge burial stones 30 miles over the land in winter by hand. Wow! Right next door is a hotel with easy access to restrooms.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Danny22 contributionsExcellent! Was a brilliant 1hr ride. Staff were super friendly super helpful. Wife was afraid but the leader made sure my wife felt safe and comfortable. Was amazed but how welcoming they were and the horses were really really calm and gorgeous! A must experience!Written 11 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Vegan&TravelerUhersky Ostroh, Czech Republic8 contributionsWhen we visited Iceland for the first time in 2018, I found Páll on Facebook as my inspiration for best places and pictures of Iceland and since then the idea of wedding photos in Iceland lived in my head. I sent him message year prior to our wedding to ask if he would be able to take our pictures, but in the way that he would be taking pictures of beautiful nature of Iceland and us in it. When the time came, we spent 2 wonderful day with Páll and we enjoyed every minute of it, not just the pictures we received are just unique and gorgeous, but the time we spent with him was just brilliant! He answer all of our questions, showing us special places which we didn't even know they existed, he took us on Aurora hunt which became night we will never forget.
And to see him how excited he was to see the Northern lights after living his whole life in Iceland was just so heartwarming as you could see how much he loves his country and the work he is doing. He will be always part of our special day as he is in every picture, just behind the camera.
Thank you so much Páll from both of us, we hope we will meet again.Written 24 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We started with the glacier as the weather was due to turn, and he wanted us to see it without getting soaked. It was stunning, well worth the walk, although I would suggest if you have remotely slippery shoes, buy some grips. At times it was a bit of a struggle to find a non-slippery part of the path to walk on. Don’t let that put you off though...it was beeeeaauuutiful! Then on to black beach in Vik, followed by the two waterfalls (one of which featured in Game of Thrones) Walkways to the waterfalls was again quite slippery, sheet ice in places, but I genuinely didn’t see anybody fall, so as long as you take care, and have good grip on your shoes, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Kevin, brought samples of Icelandic food and drink for us all, and then dropped us off back in Reykjavik as near to our Airbnb as he could. I would highly recommend this trip, it was 10 hours with an 8am pick up, and worth every penny.Written 6 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Grabrok volcano crater with lunar like lava marks is a spectacular sight. One has to be fit to scale the 1.5 km hike up with most gradients at 45 degrees. Fortunately, the stair pathway was very well constructed. Thank God, we made it!👏Written 7 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
