- 1957Ottawa, Canada660 contributionsPart of our organized tour , we visited this fountain- type geyser located i a geothermal area. It is beside the Hvita River , southwest part of Iceland, east of the capital ReykjavÃk . You walk on the pathway , and not too close, the smell of sulphur is definitely in the air. There is no set cycle to the stream geyser eruption. It can sprouts as high as 30 meters high in the air every few minutes.Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffrey BLake Oswego, OR14 contributionsUndaunted (well, maybe a little bit daunted) by the website stating they're currently closed other than to groups of 15+, I emailed the brewery and was told I could drop by and knock on the door and we could do a tasting if anyone was available. This ended up being a highlight of the trip as there was no one there between me and my companion, and we tasted all the beers in which we were interested, got a tour of the brew room, and even tasted a new beer right from the fermentation tank. They loaded us up with swag and more beer than we could actually carry, which we ended up sharing that evening with our nearby B&B owners. I can't say you'll have the same experience we did, but the people are friendly and there's a wide range of quality beers (even for a US beer snob). A bit out of the way, but definitely worth a visit if you're in the Selfoss area.Written 19 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdwelshNorth Canton, OH4,508 contributionsThis quaint cathedral in the tiny village of Skálholt, considered to be Iceland's first town, is a gem. Gorgeous church in a amazing setting, with a history museum in the basement is definitely worth a visit. Just reading the names and dates on the walls was fascinating, but then to read the stories of how these people moved these huge burial stones 30 miles over the land in winter by hand. Wow! Right next door is a hotel with easy access to restrooms.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dgdssdish dCharlottetown, Canada1,170 contributionsCool gallery with some really funky jewelry and brass items. Love the signature on the paper bags and really nice touch. Quality work and I felt reasonably priced. Worth a stop in if in the Selfoss area.Written 18 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
