What travellers are saying
- buddog245Westchester, New York57 contributionsSo great. Not really horse riders but five of us did hour tour. The two guides, Lucy and sorry I can’t recall she second guide’s name though she was from Germany, were terrific. Really personable and very comforting for skittish guests. Horses are fun and less intimidating the American horses. Would highly recommend.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Todd LMalvern, PA128 contributionsMy daughter had a private riding lesson and fantastic interaction with the horse and instructor. As an experienced rider, she didn't want to just do a trail ride and this was exactly what she wanted she was looking for in learning and experiencing the unique gait of this breed. Highly recommended.Written 29 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- foreveramumBateau Bay71 contributionsI went with 4 other Australians and we rode the ancient Kjolur trail from south to north. It was 6 days of riding. There were 25 riders and 6 guides and 116 free ranging herd of horses.
It's no walk in the park but worth it.Days can be very cold despite being summer there. The accomodation ranges from bunk beds with 9 in a room to 4 in a room. Meals were made each day and were plentiful and tasty.
The guides Paulina and Julia were very helpful and friendly.Charlotte captured many videos for us to remember and cherish.Written 11 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our hosts were so welcoming and kind, the food was great, and our rides were wonderful, in spite of very strong winds the whole time.
The horses are Steady Eddies — truly amazing, so reliable, and they definitely know their job! Riding calmly head-on into 40mph winds at a fast tolt as if we were riding in a light breeze.
The staff checked in on each of us in terms of how well matched we were with our horses and made adjustments as necessary.
The accommodations were very comfortable, and although I was traveling soli, I quickly bonded with my cabin mates and many of the other people in our group of 15 riders.
At 69, I think I was the oldest person on the trip, but no one treated me like a creaky old lady (which I am most definitely not). I will definitely be back!!
