Wonderful place in an exciting city. Best viewed at night where it really comes to life. Can be viewed from the water on a night cruise which I highly recommend.

Great place to go but very touristy.
Worth a visit but as we went during peak summer travel time when the rest of China is also on holiday it was very hot humid and crowded.

Think they could manage the amount of people going through better so everyone can enjoy it more but also understand we went during peak.

Lots of little restaurants, eateries around. We went to a canteen place to eat where you pick what you want ans pay for it - don’t do that as didn’t realise food was cold until we ate into it.

You can access the Yu Gardens via the City Sightseeing bus. Booked tickets online and would recommend people to do the same as makes entry easier - you just need to scan QR code to get in.

The perl tower is amazing itself, but if you put it together with the other mega buildings of Pudon area, the picture is simply amazing. I do recommend to walk around, and not only take the beautiful picture from the other side of the river (The bund)

This is a great pedestrian street to explore, with some attractive architecture, some of it more than 100 years old and some of it very modern. If you get off the subway at the Nanjing Rd. East subway station, it's also the most interesting way of ending up at the Bund and the Huangpu River. At night this street is lit up beautifully.

If shopping is your thing, this is a good place to shop during the day.

The 'slightly sleazy' wording in the title is because, as I walked down the street in the evening, I was approached three separate times by attractive young women who 'wanted to practice their English'. If you are with a group or a family, as I was on a previous visit here in 2019, this won't happen to you, and it's a very safe street otherwise.

Worth seeing if you are in Shanghai.

After a ton of the tourist shops have closed and the lights have all dimmed, it is a nice experience to just kind of walk around the water town. It is very peaceful and picturesque.

When everything is operating as normal, it's okay but not super special - still worth a visit.

    Crowd
only able to squeeze into 2-3 ride, a pity but the experience was perfect.

    The service
Great service as usual. The staff was patient. They even gave us some sticker, which were so cute! (see photos)

    Food and snack
The snack was delicious but overpriced and portion was a small. The food in the restaurant were not very ok, however, very expensive.

    A pity
There were many people in the Zootopia. Not a chance to go there at all.

I always enjoy this area because of its tree-lined streets and architecture. You can find good Western restaurants and bars here. There are also nice parks around.

We came here to look around and shop and stayed to lunch. The area is an interesting stroll and there are indoor air conditioned shops if high end shopping is your thing. Steets were busy and full of happy shoppers. Lots of variety and options to eat.

We visited the museum on 2024-06-10. Our mistake was to not book a visit in advance through the museum's website, because it was an extended weekend due to Dragon Boat Festival and Shanghai was overcrowded with tourists. The plate at the entrance mentioned "a fully booked day". However, after waiting for 20 minutes at the ticket office and explaining to the staff that we were visiting Shanghai for 1 day only, our group of 5 persons received a pass. Entrance is free and this is amazing taking into account the museum interior and exhibitions, which undoubtedly require good funding. So we spent about two hours here and for me this wasn't enough, though a couple of exhibitions was closed. Personally, I found the section dedicated to Chinese painting art and calligraphy most amazing because my previous knowledge of it had been almost zero. There are items which are almost 1000 years old and this was very impressive. I hope to come back here with my family some day.

The air was alive with the sounds of vendors calling out, the clinking of coins, and the laughter of people enjoying the lively atmosphere. We browsed through stalls selling everything from handmade crafts to exotic spices, our senses delighting in the colors and fragrances that surrounded us. We sampled local street food, each bite a new adventure, a taste of Shanghai's rich culinary heritage.

One of the highlights of our exploration was the Old Town of Nanshi. Walking through the preserved Shikumen houses, we felt as though we had stepped back in time. The narrow streets, lined with traditional shops and eateries, offered a glimpse into the life of old Shanghai.

We visited here in August 2019 on a tour. Although we were only here for a couple of hours, it was no where near enough time to get through all the shops and food stalls and sights. August is a very busy time and there were many many people everywhere. The architecture was wonderful, and so much to see. Definitely worth the visit. Leave yourself enough time.

A pretty fun experience, for both little kids and adults.
The park has more attractions than Disneyland Shanghai. They have 2 big roller coasters, as well as many other attractions. They have attractions suited for kids, so it’s a great place for family trips. The food prices aren’t bad, and there are many places to get snacks and drinks, like ice cream, cotton candy and tanghulu.
The lines are pretty long during the weekends, so you can expect to be anywhere from half an hour to an hour in more popular rides, which is the only bad thing.

A lot of things changed during COVID-19 Pandemic, but not the extraordinary service provided by Heping Fandian's team! Heping Hotel has been my favorite hotel in China since 2018. I met Zoey, their talented and excellent front desk operator who helped me a lot during my stay. China is changing rapidly since last I was there. Zoey was kind and informative. She made my visit in China much more easier. The room she gave me have impeccable street view. It always makes me want to extend my stay.

Beautiful temple in Shanghai: don’t skip. It’s really pretty. With a couple of gorgeous courtyards and multiple temples you can visit. Highly recommended. In the middle of the city. You can’t photograph the Jade Buddha itself, but all other altars you can. Everything is so calm, and pretty and manicured and worthy of a photo.
