- yazid yKuala Lumpur, Malaysia289 contributionsTop of the Pyrimids Exhibition:-
This is a special exhibition of a few hundred selected pieces from the time of the pharaohs, brought from the Cairo Museum on a government to government initiative. You need to book your ticket and timeslot online. Exhibits were very well presented, although the written descriptions of the exhibits in english were too brief. You can rent a audio machine to have a better explanation on the exhibits. Go on a weekday if possible as the weekend crowd can be overwhelming, although the visitors allowed in are controlled by the number of tickets sold. For non China citizens, you require your passport to enter the museum. Your online booking is linked to your passport details. Make sure you fill in your passport details correctly when doing your online booking, became if the information does not tally, you will not be allowed into the museum. Its worth the 2 to 3 hour time to visit this exhibition.Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Shanghai is so big and impossible to comprehend how big the city is until you see the models on the whole floor.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ClementineBoston, MA182 contributionsThe underground is convenient. In the People's Square you can see a variety of landmarks, walking in the garden-style square is very comfortable, there is a green space in the square to raise a lot of peace pigeons, natural harmony, or quite interesting.Written 15 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nicely made characters.
If you have a lot of customers, it can take time to tour the exhibition.Written 18 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Get inside where you can and slowly take it in and study whatever is available there.Written 6 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,995 contributionsThis is one of the oldest shopping malls in Shanghai that was opened in 1915. It is located at the intersection of Xizhang Middle Road, Nanjing West Road and it jointly forms the first highlight of the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. It looks great and awesome especially so at night with the colourful lightings that are turned on!
It got a major facelift in the late 2019, which included a Naruto theme park, a 55m climbing wall in its central atrium and Madam Tusad museum located on the 10th floor.
It is considered a middle-to-high-end shopping mall with many international luxury brands, is a good place to shop and dine, where several cafes, restaurants are located.Written 26 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Note that this review just covers the cinema portion of the Shanghai Grand Theatre complex. This part of the complex includes 8 good modern multiplex cinemas and the restored Grand cinema 1, which seems to be only open for special occasions, and the cinema lobbies. The art deco lobbies are superb, and seem to be free to view. See photos. Western movies are quite expensive but worth it for the total cinema experience. Must see for movie history and art deco lovers.Written 15 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However it was drizzling so we didnt make it all the way. This street is very interesting and historical, with old buildings and old bookstores and art gallery. Love it!Written 6 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jamie H-DPoole, UK2,285 contributionsA nice park just across from the History Museum to have a little stroll avoiding the hustle and bustle of the city - you can look at the ‘CV’s’ that parents have left practically advertising their child to find them a partner, it’s a very interesting tradition to view. The park itself is well cared for with a nice koi pond as well.Written 23 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As most of south China foods are hot, delicious, spicy as i love.Written 3 April 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marco MGothenburg, Sweden414 contributionsNot so big as a mall but one of the coolest ever, mixing trendy shops with art installations. The coolest shoe shop I ever saw, with huge LED screens as tables and a robot. And much else. Also, many different restaurants. Close to an area which is worth walking through.Written 24 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PeteD_LondonLondon243 contributionsThis is an excellent place to experience traditional Chinese opera. Very good productions and good sight lines from most seats. Not too expensive either. To Western ears Chinese opera can be a bit of an acquired taste, but one that is definitely worth acquiring. Thankfully smoking is now banned throughout the theatre.Written 28 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
